Hollywood romances have traditionally been full of problems. It can be difficult to live in the public eye and have your relationship and your life be like an open book.
Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick understand this all too well. They do what they can, however, to stay quiet and to live a life that is outside of the Hollywood glitz and glitter.
When Kevin Bacon met Kyra Sedgwick, it was like a dream come true. After getting married, they stuck with their promise of for better or for worse and have been married for 35 years.
In order to celebrate the milestone together, they posted tributes on social media. Sedgwick posted from the first day that they met on the set of Lemon Sky in 1987.
Kevin also shared a picture from their younger days. He said that the 35 years have gone by like a heartbeat and for him, it was love at first sight. He said he thought she was ‘amazing.’
Prior to meeting Kyra on the set of Lemon Sky, he had already played on Footloose. He was a rising star, and she thought he was full of himself.
Even though people were skeptical at first, including Sedgwick, he convinced her that going on a date was the right thing to do. They had a good time on that first date, laughing and talking with each other for a long time. She knew that he was right for her from the start.
This couple owns a number of homes, including in Connecticut, New York, and Los Angeles. They spent some time in Los Angeles during the coronavirus pandemic, but eventually moved to their Connecticut farmhouse to lead a quiet life.
They still take part in Hollywood and are seen on the red carpet at times, but they do what they can to lead a quiet life. Every once in a while, we do get a look inside their farmhouse and their lives, and it seems like a quiet existence.
One of the difficulties they had was when their children left. She considers it to be a ‘crushing blow’ but they are happy they still have each other.
In speaking about their love for each other, they said that a sense of humor is the most important thing. They have busy lives but they still enjoy seeing each other thrive at work.
Bacon loves taking walks with her and staying up at night to talk. It seems as if it is the simple things that keep them together and we all understand.
