Not all that long ago, pep rallies were a common occurrence. Our parents or perhaps our grandparents remember them and they look back on those school events with a smile on their face.
It’s not that pep rallies don’t happen anymore, it’s just that the school spirit behind them has died down to a large extent. That isn’t always the case, however, and if they are done properly, a pep rally can really get things going.
The dance team at the Walden Grove High School certainly knows how to put on a pep rally. They are located in Arizona, but when you see the video, you could swear they were from the land of Oz.
Pep rallies can be boring and they may lack some pizzazz. The dance team, however, put on a pep rally that is going to be remembered by the school and by the Internet for many years to come.
The pep rally was focused on the Wizard of Oz movie. It starts out with the Somewhere over the Rainbow theme song that is playing out of the loudspeakers but it isn’t long before it takes a turn.
Suddenly, the scarecrow comes out and the music from the Wizard of Oz is replaced by a more upbeat choice. That is when the rest of the dance team comes out and really shows the school what they are capable of doing.
It’s interesting when students take things to a new level, and they certainly do so with this pep rally based on The Wizard of Oz. Perhaps it will even inspire you to do great things as well.
