Man Attacked By XL Bully Days After Defending The Dogs On Social Media

A man who came to the defence of XL Bullies on Facebook and urged people to ‘stop blaming the wrong end of the leash’ has now been attacked by one of the dogs himself.

Ben Cźyżyk, 38, from Wolverhampton, was left with puncture wounds and bruising to his face after the incident on Friday night. He shared his experience with this FB status, alongside a bunch of pictures of his injuries…

In fairness to Ben, the dog did attack him under instruction from its owner, which kind of supports his philosophy that it’s irresponsible dog owners are the problem. Then again, he did ask the owner to put the XL Bully on a leash, so maybe it would have attacked him anyway?

Either way, what an absolute sc*mbag this guy is to not only set his dog on Ben for no reason, but to join in on the beatdown as well.

The thug and his dog managed to flee the area before police got there, and Ben was left with 12 fractures to his eye socket and multiple puncture wounds around his ankles. The scariest part of course is that it could have been a whole lot worse.

Just nine days before he was attacked, Ben had uploaded a post to Facebook featuring a picture of an XL Bully, saying:

‘Any breed can be taught to be aggressive. It’s time we quit blaming the wrong end of the leash.’

Has Ben changed his stance on XL Bullies since being attacked? Well, according to a relative he is ‘still recovering and isn’t up to talking about it in full at the moment’, but the relative said on his behalf:

‘We still don’t think they should be banned, they need to be registered and looked after properly.  These dogs shouldn’t be used as weapons and that’s what this user was using his as – a weapon.’

West Midlands Police confirmed they are investigating the attack. A spokesperson said:

‘Officers attended and found a man in his 30s with injuries to his face and leg.  Thankfully they are not believed to be life-changing. We are continuing with house-to-house inquiries and reviewing CCTV and doorbell footage from the area as part of our on-going investigation.’

Let’s hope they find this absolute wrong ‘un and his dog sooner rather than later. Get well soon, Ben!
