There are some songs that may be decades old but they are known by people far and wide, even in the younger generation. One of those songs is doing banjos, and it recently got an update, thanks to a band in Bellaire, Michigan.

If you’ve ever taken part in a high school band, you realize that they are capable of doing some amazing things. These high school students certainly show just how amazing they can be, because they lined up wearing Hawaiian shirts to play their steel drums.

The Petoskey High School Steel Drum Band was able to do something that very few high school bands have ever been able to do. They showed some originality and it has gone viral online.

The original recording of the song they chose, Dueling Banjos, was originally recorded in 1955. At that point, it was known as Feuding Banjos, but it got a boost, thanks to a movie and a remake.

The Dillards remade the song and the recording was very popular in the mid-1960s. In 1973, it was an important part of the movie, Deliverance, as it was shared by one of the stars and a young local, who played the part of the banjo.

In this rendition of the song, however, they aren’t playing guitars and banjos, they are playing steel drums. It really elevated the song to a new level and we can see just how amazing music can be.
