Melinda Messenger may now be starring on the new series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, but she made her name modelling as a Page 3 girl. Even now, she says her ‘iconic’ reputation is ‘mad’ to her
Page 3 icon Melinda Messenger admits she’s always amazed at just how quickly she became a household name.
Even 25 years on, the Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins star is still famous for her topless photoshoots. But she’s not entirely sure why as her modelling career didn’t last too long.
Melinda, now 52, said: “It’s ironic that I’m known for Page 3 because I only did it for two or three months. I actually only did four or five photoshoots.”
Her modelling days started in 1997 and she instantly proved a hit, leading to one newspaper dubbing her ‘Girl of the Thrillenium’, but very quickly she moved into TV work, starring on Fort Boyard for three years.
From then on, she’s been something of a mainstay on TV and is now appearing in the new series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins alongside other famous faces including Matt Hancock, TOWIE star James Argent and Love Islanders Montana Brown and Teddy Soares.
Melinda added: “Everybody says, ‘You’re one of the iconic ones’. But that’s bizarre really. It’s mad. I’ve no idea why people remember me so much for it.”
She has also qualified as a psychotherapist and recently shared how she wants to dive into the minds of fans and strangers alike as a dreams guide.
The mum-of-three has just completed a master’s degree on the topic to make sure she knows her stuff. She says: “I’m training to be a dream guide. I’m developing it and I’ll be working with people to understand their dreams.
“Dreams are so powerful… they can tell you so much about yourself. They can tell you things you weren’t aware of and things you might be struggling with. They can be a medicine and a diagnostic tool. Helping people understand their dreams can help them understand themselves better. It also helps them navigate through life and heal certain things. It’s exceptionally powerful.”
