People hit back at Ellen DeGeneres and brought up the allegations of bullying against the former host
Ellen DeGeneres once upon a time was one of the most beloved TV hosts in the world.
Millions around the world watched her show for a few laughs and hot takes about current affairs, while many sought to get on the Ellen DeGeneres show to showcase their talent or spread their message.
However, her image of a sweet and endearing person came crashing down after allegations were levied against the star.
In 2022, DeGeneres was hit with claims that she fostered a very ‘toxic’ work environment for staff and was nothing like her onscreen persona.
There were also allegations of racism, sexual misconduct and intimidation at the hands of three executive producers who worked on the show.
Despite the producers being fired, and Ellen claiming not to have known anything about the allegations, the reputation of the show was irreparable.
This ultimately resulted in the show coming to swift end after over 19 years on air.
Since then, the comedian has been laying low but has sought to get back in the limelight with a comedy tour, titled Ellen’s Last Stand… Up Tour, which kicked earlier this week in Los Angeles.
During one of her shows, she chose to address the ending of her show and claimed to have been kicked out of show business.
“Oh yeah, I got kicked out of show business. There’s no mean people in show business,” she said to her audience.
“I became this one-dimensional character who gave stuff away and danced up steps. Do you know how hard it is to dance up steps? Would a mean person dance up steps?

“Had I ended my show by saying, ‘Go f**k yourself,’ people would’ve been pleasantly surprised.”
She then added: “For those of you keeping score, this is the second time I’ve been kicked out of show business. Eventually they’re going to kick me out for a third time because I’m mean, old, and gay.”
However, on social media this didn’t sit well with many who said it was because she was a ‘toxic’ boss that brought the end to her popularity in the industry.
“I don’t know about her being a bully, but she is a very obvious social climber who aligns herself with those she thinks are most popular. She’s so not relatable anymore, and doesn’t seem to want to be,” one user wrote.

“Ellen fumbled her bag on network television and like every embarrassed bag fumbler it’s never her fault,” another wrote.
“No, you became a bad out of touch person with your fame and were eventually exposed,” added a third user.
Another person simply shared an image of Dakota Johnson from her time on the Ellen Show with the text that read, ‘Actually, no, that’s not the truth Ellen’.
In fact, quite a few social media users shared this exact screenshot, to really hammer home their stance.
