Man left with lifelong injuries by David Dobrik prank is going to ‘tell the truth’ about what happened

YouTuber Jeff Wittek has vowed ‘the truth will come out’ about David Dobrik while condemning his former content partner

Jeff Wittek has insisted he is no longer staying silent about his former YouTube partner David Dobrik.

32-year-old Wittek has spoken out on social media about an incident that saw him left with life-changing health issues.

David Dobrik, who is most known for his YouTube prank videos, worked with Wittek back in June 2020.

The event saw several influencers – known as the ‘Vlog Squad’ – swung round on a rope attached to a crane over water, however, when it came to Wittek’s turn, he ended up sustaining some serious injuries and he’s been dealing with the consequences since.

In the since-deleted video originally posted to social media back in 2021, Wittek could be seen hanging from the rope and being swung round by the crane operated by Dobrik.

After being swung around, with the crane beginning to slow down, Wittek was slammed into the crane arm and suffered a slew of injuries, including a torn ligaments in his leg, a broken foot, hip, shattered skull ‘in nine places’ and shattered eye socket.

He eventually sued Dobrik for $10 million but speaking on X, Wittek has said the truth still hasn’t been told and he intends to reveal it to the public.

“I deleted the documentary off YouTube. That s*** was made to protect David when I was still blind to who he really was (no pun intended).

“I’m recutting it and telling the truth this time. I don’t care about money. This kid has plenty from Snapchat and keeps pushing back trial,” Wittek wrote in one of his latest X posts.

Some people on social media were less supportive of Wittek’s comments and said he agreed to the stunt, despite the outcome. Wittek addressed these comments in a follow up post.

“I’m sick of people commenting saying you agreed like I was doing some jackass stunt for clout. The truth will come out soon.”

On 21 May, Wittek took aim at Dorbik by contacting Snapchat on X, accusing him of ‘smashing in his skull for a prank’.

When the Snapchat account asked for more information, Witteck named Dorbik as the culprit and said he is still having surgeries from the incident.
