The Spanish woman admitted she’d completed 16 bank transfers before becoming suspicious of the scammer.
A Spanish Keanu Reeves superfan lost almost $750,000 after she found herself embroiled in a financial scam.
Canadian actor Reeves, 59, made his acting debut back in 1984 and has since gone on to star in blockbuster franchises like The Matrix and John Wick.
As well as portraying characters such as Neo, John Constantine and Johnny Silverhand in Cyberpunk 2077, Reeves moonlights as a bass guitar player in the band Dogstar and writes for the BRZRKR franchise.
What we’re saying is Reeves has been booked and busy for the last four decades – but one fan believed he’d carved out some time to dedicate his life to her.
A woman, calling herself Chloe, recently appeared on the Spanish TV show Y ahora Sonsoles and claimed that she’d allegedly been receiving messages from the Hollywood actor.
It’s said that this fake Reeves had initially replied to one of her comments on social media – leading the pair to chat on a daily basis.

The scammer talked about rock music and motorcycles with Chloe and she confirmed that they even had conversations via audio messages in English.
During this supposed romance, the AI-generated Reeves suddenly began to ask Chloe for money.
“He asked me for money to come here, €60,000 for a private jet, then he asked me for €5,000 for a special computer for him to create his scripts, John Wick 5, and to invest in Bitcoin,” Chloe recounted.
“I had given him €450,000 ($380,137) and my money never came.”
It’s said that in total Chloe sent this fraudster a whopping €700,000 ($750,000) and was later forced to pawn her possessions and borrow money from her relatives.
“It wasn’t a love scam, but an economic one,” she explained on TV.
Apparently after completing 16 bank transfers and going significantly into debt, Chloe began to become suspicious.
Eventually, she realised the person she had been speaking to probably wasn’t the Man of Tai Chi director and eventually cut off communication with him.
Interestingly, Chloe isn’t the only woman to fall for the Keanu Reeves Romance Scam.
Earlier this year, a woman from Colorado believed she’d been talking to the Beirut-born actor since 2022.

“We had great conversations,” said a 65-year-old woman. “We talked about everything from what we had for breakfast to sex in the shower.”
Speaking to CBS News Colorado, the woman admitted she’d given the person who she was speaking to access to her bank accounts and tax information.
In April 2024, she claimed she’d sent him around $5,000 in total, but was adamant she wasn’t involved in a scam.
“I can tell you what movies he’s working on. We talked about all kinds of stuff,” she said.
She added that the only way she would believe she was a fraud victim was if ‘Keanu Reeves should walk in the door and tell me he didn’t do this’
According to CBS, ‘The Keanu Reeves Scam’ has been a hot topic for years and has been the subject of numerous media reports.
Representatives for the actor have repeatedly denied that Reeves has a Facebook account or any other social media presence.
