Things didn’t quite go to plan – as he admitted in a viral TikTok video
One man was so desperate to work for Logan Paul that he quit his $100,000-a-year job to go and offer up his services – only thing was, he got rejected.
Back in 2021, Austin Wallace went viral after claiming he’d packed in his $100k salary job to try out for a job with YouTuber-turned-boxer Logan Paul.
He boldly decided to head to Cleveland, where Paul was supporting brother Jake as he took on Tyron Woodley, and scam his way backstage.
But things didn’t quite go to plan – as he admitted in a viral TikTok video.
Through tears, Wallace said: “I’m 22, I do make $100,000 a year and that’s cool. I wanna act, I wanna do these things, I’m gonna break down right now.”
He added: “I don’t know what to do. I did come up here by myself, I do have family but we’re not the closest, and I don’t have really close friends. You know there’s millions of people trying to do what I wanna do. Just watch the clip.”

Wallace then cut to a clip of the encounter he had with Paul, who asked what he was good at.
Wallace was brutally honest and admitted he didn’t really have what it took, despite ‘legit’ quitting his job for him.
“Then why would I give you a job?” Paul asked, continuing to explain that he couldn’t be a mentor to the fan, but offered up some solid advice.
“Go make content, make stuff with your friends,” he said.
“I’m glad you quit your job, it takes balls to do that, but now you gotta activate. I’m not the guy directly. My team is [mimes something very small] – we’re locked.”
Paul continued: “Life isn’t about handouts, you’ve gotta work. If you really are serious about it, you should move to LA and just like you approached me, start making connections with every single person in LA.
“I’m serious, that’s it. I’ve always said, if you can talk to someone, you can make it in LA.”

YouTuber GunnarTV shared an update video about Wallace in March last year, noting how he had been ‘clout chasing a ton of different people’ after being turned down by Paul, including Danny Duncan, Bryce Hall and Dr Phil.
“My advice to Austin, who will probably watch this, is just make your own content for now,” GunnarTV said.
“You’re not anybody yet, people do not know you, and you should not be trying to make content that relies on somebody else who is an unwilling participant, because it’s needy, it’s annoying, and in some cases it’s illegal.
“Austin, I really do wish you the best. You seem passionate and I hope you stay positive, so please take my criticisms and jokes in stride, but also hear them out.”

“Wanting to be famous is not good enough – you need to also enjoy the content you’re making, because it’s all about the ride to the top. It’s all about the journey.”
And it seems like Wallace has paid attention to both GunnarTV and Paul, having grown a following of nearly one million followers on TikTok after clearly taking his hero’s advice by making a lot of content on the platform.
He has YouTube, too, where he describes himself as a ‘23 year old from Ohio here doing me, having fun and doing influencing’.
