The hidden staircase was concealed by a trap door
After three years in your home you might think you know every nook and cranny of your home – but one TikToker has proven you might be mistaken.
Podcaster and life coach Julia Henning shared her chilling revelation in a post on the platform, explaining she stumbled upon it while cleaning her closet.
Usually the scariest thing to come out of that scenario is a piece of horrendous clothing you can’t believe you ever wore, but Henning’s discovery was even more terrifying.
In her video, Henning drew attention to a small latch on the floor of her closet. When she pulled on it, it lifted a segment of the floor to reveal a steep spiral staircase descending into the darkness below.
Alongside the video, Henning wrote: “I was cleaning the closet and decided to invesitgate [sic]. This is what I found… should I go in?”
While some people might have been excited about the prospect of discovering some extra storage space, most viewers weren’t so enthusiastic.

“That’s called a Nope and I would hire professionals to investigate,” one person wrote.
Another added: “Nope. Put boxes over it and forget about it.”
But despite the calls for Henning to leave the house and seal up the space forever, the TikToker decided to be brave and try to learn more about the mysterious hole.
She documented exploring the space over the course of several videos, one of which saw her calling in a medium to come and take a look to see what they thought.
It probably doesn’t come as much of a surprise to learn the medium was ‘uncomfortable’ with going down into the room.
“That’s probably her survival instinct telling her to get off those sketchy ass stairs,” one person responded after seeing the clip.

Eventually Henning herself decided to venture down into the space, inside which she found a bare concrete wall on side, with the other containing some wooden shelving and something which looked like it was designed as a wine rack.
There was also some writing which had been scrawled on the wall, saying someone’s name. Could they still be down there…?
The space could definitely prove handy for storage, or maybe even be turned into a cool wine cellar, but would it be worth dealing with whatever potential horrors might be hiding in the dark?
When it comes to using the space, I’m on team ‘board it up’. It’s just better to be safe.
