Lead singer of rock band explodes onstage and punches guitarist mid-song

Jane’s Addiction had been separated for 15 years, and now fans speculate they’ll disband for good

After the lead singer rock band Jane’s Addiction punched his guitarist at their last show, fans have speculated that this might be the end of the iconic group.

The incident occurred in the middle of a show in Boston on Friday September 13 when lead man Perry Farrell suddenly exploded with anger, and punched his guitarist, Dave Navarro.

According to fans, Farrell was swearing into his mic before he decided he’d had enough and took out his frustrations on Navarro.

Those who were there took to Twitter to share that they could see the anger had been brewing for the last couple of songs, particularly when they were performing their hit, ‘Mountain Song’.

That’s when fans say Farrell began shouting at Navarro, before turning things physical.

The incident then led to the rest of the concert being cancelled.

When the incident was occurring, Navarro could be seen putting his arm between himself and Farrell.

That’s when crew members rushed the stage and grabbed the singer to pull him away.

However, he had to be restrained and dragged from the stage by crew and Eric Avery, the bass player.

The lights then dimmed so that the band could have privacy while figuring out what to do next, before it switched to blue lights and the band walked off stage.

Thankfully, the remaining members regrouped on stage just moments later and fans saw Navarro, Stephen Perkins the drummer and Avery hug each other and show their fans peace signs as everyone cheered for them.

This attack comes at a terrible time as the band still has tour dates listed for the rest of the month after they came back together after 15 years apart.

Now, nobody knows whether they will be completing those dates.

Fans have since posted online about that night.

Someone wrote: “I was there. The crowd was bemused. Half p****d the show ended early and half excited we may have seen the last Janes A show ever.”

One person said that the band was over: “For sure that this was last day of J Addiction.”

But this could have been the end of a long-due issue after the band played for two nights in New York City and Ferrell couldn’t get his voice to work properly.

Farrell explained to the crowd at Pier 17: “Ladies and gentlemen, I have to be honest with you. Something’s wrong with my voice. I just can’t get the notes out all of a sudden.”

Avery went on to promise that they’ll do better than the New York performance in an Instagram post: “Looking forward to getting another crack at this spectacular rooftop venue tonight. I’m optimistic we will be better.”
