A ratio discovered by the Greeks is believed to ‘hold the secret formula of the world’s most beautiful faces’
An ancient scientific ratio method has revealed Amber Heard has some of the most aesthetically pleasing facial proportions across the globe.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, of course, a ratio of beauty used by the Greeks is considered a formula to work out who’s considered the most beautiful in the world and it all relies on the layout of one’s facial proportions.
As such, it often used to determine who is the most beautiful, according to science – for both men and women.

What is the ‘Golden Ratio’?
Twitter account Fermat’s Library explains: “Mathematics and art have a long history with each other.
“The Golden Ratio (~1.618) was known to Euclid, Pythagoras and has been used in ancient Egypt, Greece, in the Parthenon and the Mona Lisa.
“It appears in nature at the macroscopic and quantum level. Here is a golden spiral.”
And there’s a specific method to calculate whether someone has a near-golden ratio when it comes to their facial features.

How to calculate the ‘Golden Ratio’
To calculate the Golden Ratio, you measure the length and width of the face, before dividing the length by the width.
According to experts, the ideal number should be around 1.62 and other factors can be measured too, including the distance from the hairline to the eyes, the gap between the eyes and the distance between the bottom of the nose and the chin.
Basically, the closer a face scores to the 1.62 ratio, the higher the golden ratio percentage it has and the most ‘beautiful’ a face is.

Most beautiful faces according to the ‘Golden Ratio’
Dr Julian De Silva from Centre for Advanced Facial Cosmetic & Plastic Surgery in London utilized the ratio in 2016 to figure out who some of the most ‘beautiful’ people are in the world – most beautiful subsequently according to the scientific ratio that is.
Dr Silva told US Weekly at the time: “The Greeks discovered that the ratio occurs everywhere in nature and for thousands of years it has been thought to hold the secret formula of the world’s most beautiful faces.
“The Phi ratio of 1.618 has long been thought to hold the secret for beauty, but now with the computer mapping we can calculate how it applies to real women.”
Dr Silva analysed several celebrities including Amber Heard and found the Aquaman‘s actor’s face was 91.85 per cent perfect to the ‘Golden Ratio’.
Others to make the list include Kim Kardashian, supermodel Bella Hadid, Beyoncé and Ariana Grande.
But hey, remember everyone’s beautiful in their own way right? And true beauty lies within etc.
