Last November, a Kentucky college student was found unresponsive after \u2018not breathing\u2019 for 23 minutes.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Discovered with deep lacerations and bruising, Isabella Willingham, 21, a student at Asbury\u00a0University<\/a>, was rushed to\u00a0hospital<\/a>\u00a0on 27 November.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The student was subsequently placed in intensive care due to the severity of her injuries, according to\u00a0Lex18<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Now, Isabella\u2019s parents are demanding answers to the now-months-long investigation that continues to take place.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The woman\u2019s parents had not heard from her for hours after she returned to campus after the Thanksgiving celebrations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

That was when they received a worrying phone call from her dorm resident director.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Her father, Andy Willingham, told Lex18: \u201cAt 11 that night, we get a call from the resident director of her dorm, and she tells us that Bella is in an ambulance on her way to the emergency room, that she had been found unresponsive on the floor of her room by her roommate.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Paramedics told the frightened\u00a0parents<\/a>\u00a0that their daughter had stopped breathing for 23 minutes, while there were grave concerns surrounding Isabella\u2019s injuries.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The student suffered deep gashes and swollen legs, as per photos obtained by the outlet.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

When she woke up in hospital, Isabella discovered her acrylic nails had been ripped off \u2013 something that added to the confusion.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The university student spent two weeks recovering at the University of Kentucky Hospital.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The Jessamine County Sheriff\u2019s Office launched an investigation into Isabella\u2019s injuries to determine what happened to her.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Willingham added: \u201cThere\u2019s no way these could\u2019ve been caused by anything other than someone doing something to her.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The father has also slammed Asbury University for apparently not taking what happened to Isabella seriously.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

He also criticized the university\u2019s decision to wait over a week to inform other students that there could be a potential threat on campus.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cAs a parent, I want to know if there\u2019s a possibility of someone coming into the school or campus being potentially dangerous,\u201d Willingham said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Months on from the terrifying incident, Isabella\u2019s family are still searching for answers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cI contacted them and said this is not okay, you have to give a detail so if someone knows something, they\u2019ll come forward, and the school\u2019s response to me was that we felt like they had done everything they could do,\u201d the father added to Lex18.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

A spokesman for Asbury University told the outlet the investigation is \u2018ongoing\u2019.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
