D\u2019Onofrio\u2019s physical transformation for the role caused him to lose his ruggedly handsome look and led to some unexpected consequences.<\/p>\n

D\u2019Onofrio, who turned 64 on June 30, 2023, is known for his dedication to every part he takes on. He immerses himself in the character to the point where you forget who he really is. But before he became a renowned actor, he had to work hard to support his dreams.<\/p>\n

Originally from Brooklyn, D\u2019Onofrio started his career in stage productions and took on various side hustles, including being a bodyguard for celebrities like Yul Brynner and Robert Plant. He even worked as a nightclub bouncer, flower delivery person, drapes hanger, and cab driver to make ends meet. But his big break came when his friend, actor Matthew Modine, urged him to audition for Stanley Kubrick.<\/p>\n

Beyond his career, D\u2019Onofrio\u2019s personal life has also seen its share of ups and downs. He has been married twice, with his most recent marriage ending in divorce in 2023 after 26 years.
