A teacher was removed from her position at a California school for making a mockery of the\u00a0U.S. flag<\/a>\u00a0and pushing her own social agenda.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It was a laughable matter according to Kristin Pitzen, who joked in a TikTok clip that she ripped the stars and stripes from her classroom walls because it made her feel \u201cuncomfortable.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

After, she urged her\u00a0students<\/a>\u00a0to pledge their allegiance to the\u00a0pride<\/a>\u00a0flag, sparking backlash from many parents who were angry she was teaching children to \u201cdisrespect\u201d the American flag.\u00a0Keep reading to learn more about this teacher and why people are furious.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kristin Pitzen, a teacher at Newport Mesa School District in Orange County, posted a now deleted video on TikTok explaining that she removed the American flag from her classroom \u201cbecause it made me uncomfortable.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI packed it away and I don\u2019t know where, and I haven\u2019t found it yet,\u201d she whispered into the camera while giggling.<\/p>\n

She then said that when the Pledge of Allegiance \u2013 a sign of loyalty to the country \u2013 is read in the mornings, she instructs her class to: \u201cStand if you feel like it, don\u2019t stand if you feel like it, say the words if you want, you don\u2019t have to say the words.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, my class decided to stand but not say the words. Totally fine. Except for the fact that my room does not have a flag,\u201d she said with unrestrained laughter.<\/p>\n

After, she describes a situation when one of her students asked what he should look at while reciting the patriotic oath since there is no American flag in the classroom.<\/p>\n

Attempting to hold back laughter, she exclaimed: \u201cIn the meantime, I tell this kid, \u2018We do have a flag in the class that you can pledge your allegiance to.\u2019 And he like, looks around and goes, \u2018Oh, that one?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

The camera then shifts to the wall where the pride flag is hanging.<\/p>\n

Pushing pride<\/h2>\n

This wasn\u2019t the only time she pushed her agenda on her pupils.<\/p>\n

In another now-deleted video, Pitzen showed her decorated classroom for pride month with various flags.<\/p>\n

\u201cI pledge allegiance to the queers,\u201d she said in the video.<\/p>\n

She added: \u201cI love you all very much \u2013 for the people who are out, who aren\u2019t out. You\u2019re appreciated. You\u2019re loved. You\u2019re enough. I support you. I got you.\u201d<\/p>\n

A symbol of freedom<\/h2>\n

The community, and school board, did not appreciate or love the teacher indoctrinating the pupils with her beliefs.<\/p>\n

The video quickly gained attention and prompted backlash from people who felt that Pitzen\u2019s actions were inappropriate and disrespectful to the American flag.<\/p>\n

In response, several parents plugged the school\u2019s lawn with flags, with one mother saying: \u201cWe just heard the school was short some flags, so we decided we\u2019d help them out to show our patriotism.\u201d<\/p>\n

Michele Vaughn, whose son is in the military, continued: \u201cI\u2019d like to share with her, if she doesn\u2019t know the importance of respecting the flag.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the online population was also enraged over Pitzen\u2019s actions.<\/p>\n

One netizen reminded Pitzen the flag is a living piece of history that symbolizes the freedom she enjoys today: \u201cI don\u2019t think you really you get it, teach them it\u2019s for the people who gave you the freedom and happiness you have now.\u201d<\/p>\n

A second shared: \u201cYou stand for the people who fought to keep freedom and you don\u2019t understand how good we have it, and to insult the flag which stands for our country?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe she\u2019d like to live in Afghanistan,\u201d added a third.<\/p>\n
