And then on weekends, they scheduled me the entire day, open to close, that one\u2019s scheduled for eight and half hours, both Saturday and Sunday,\u201d the barista said in the clip.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m three and a half hours into my shift. There\u2019s so many customers and we have four people on the floor all day. Only five people were put on schedule and somebody had to call out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The barista criticized the management for their lack of support, claiming that managers \u201cdon\u2019t care about us\u201d and refuse to assist. They also mentioned that a manager had removed himself from the shift, avoiding responsibility.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the barista \u2013 who is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.newsner.com\/tag\/trans\/\">trans<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 described instances of mistreatment by customers, including being misgendered. \u201cI don\u2019t get accommodations for being neurodivergent, people get mad at me for having too much sick time. I don\u2019t even know what to do anymore, I\u2019m at my wits end with this job,\u201d they concluded.<\/p>\n<p>Given the high cost of education in the US, many students need to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.newsner.com\/tag\/work\/\">work<\/a>\u00a0part-time to finance their studies. Common practice in coffee shops. One might see it as being exploitation to a degree,\u201d remarked one Twitter user.<\/p>\n<p>Another criticized those dismissing the barista\u2019s concerns, highlighting the toxic work environment prevalent in many industries. They wrote: \u201cPeople in the comments defending bad work environment and abuse because they were abused too.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Criticism was also directed at older generations who downplay the struggles of younger workers. \u201cThis is why everyone hates the older generation because y\u2019all will say you want the best for our generations and then when we want it to be better y\u2019all whine about how you had it worse,\u201d one commenter chimed in.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What do you think of this?
