An expert has revealed what actually happened when a man returned home to find someone was building a huge \u00a31.2 million house on his land.<\/p>\n

Dr. Daniel Kenigsberg bought a half-acre plot of land back in 1991, which was located next to his childhood home in Fairfield,\u00a0Connecticut<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Kenigsberg has held onto the plot of land ever since and was hoping to pass it down to younger generations in his family.<\/p>\n

And while there had been previous attempts from others to buy the plot of land \u2013 such as one offer of\u00a0$400,000<\/a> (\u00a3314,000) in 2022 \u2013 Kenigsberg has always rejected any offers that came his way.<\/p>\n

Kenigberg was shocked when he saw the property (Daniel Kenigsberg)<\/cite><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

So imagine his absolute horror when he arrived at the plot one day to find someone building a property.<\/p>\n

What actually happened?<\/h2>\n

Well, it turns out that the land had apparently been \u2018sold\u2019 to 51 Sky Top Partners LLC for $350,000 (\u00a3275,000) back in October 2022.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s reported that the company had fallen victim to a\u00a0scam<\/a>\u00a0and bought the plot from someone impersonating Kenigsberg.<\/p>\n

He is now suing 51 Sky Top Partners LLC on nine counts, and is seeking damages and compensation of up to $2 million (\u00a31.57 million), with the lawsuit ordering the company to clear off his land and restore it to how it was before they thought they bought it.<\/p>\n

How can this happen?<\/h2>\n

A consumer protection lawyer has since explained how such a situation like this was able to happen in the first place.<\/p>\n

Taking to\u00a0TikTok<\/a>, Kevin Kneupper said: \u201cWell, his name is Daniel Kenigsberg and someone who claimed to have the same name \u2013 it probably was just made up in a forgery \u2013 basically signed what\u2019s called \u2018a power of attorney\u2019, which is the right to sign legal documents on someone\u2019s behalf.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo they forge a document that claims (to be) from the owner, this Daniel Kenigsberg guy, someone in South Africa forged it, and then goes around to a property company and, you know, sells them the land, showing them the document claiming that they have the legal right from the owner of the land to sell it to them.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s really easy to go find who owns land. If you\u2019ve never done searches on this, in most counties, you can actually just go, it depends on your state.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut in many places, you just search online, they\u2019ll have databases, so they could find out real easily who\u2019s the actual owner and then just pretend to be him.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow, to be clear, his attorney and Mr. Kenigsberg, they are not accusing the people who bought it of being involved.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey think that they sort of didn\u2019t know what was going on, and that someone in\u00a0South Africa<\/a>\u00a0did this. And that\u2019s who the police are trying to go after to find where the money actually went to when they paid for it.\u201d<\/p>\n
