(Getty Stock Photo)<\/cite><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">Callie, known as @_cal_cifer, is a content creator on the\u00a0<a class=\"link_link__LDfG6\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ladbible.com\/social-media\">social media<\/a>\u00a0platform and shared a screenshot of the policy and recorded her reaction to it, revealing why the company might be in trouble after implementing it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">Other users also shared their annoyance at the unnamed business having almost no problem in finding ways to cut labour laws and essentially do something illegal in such a blatant way.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">The\u00a0<a class=\"link_link__LDfG6\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ladbible.com\/us-news\">American<\/a>\u00a0content creator introduces the\u00a0<a class=\"link_link__LDfG6\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ladbible.com\/viral\">viral<\/a>\u00a0video, which has over 185k views, by calling the segment \u2018Companies Must Be on Crack\u2019 \u2013 catchy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">In the background is the image of a paper notice put up by the employer in question, which she begins to read: \u201cNEW OFFICE RULE, For every minute you are late for work, you will be required to work for 10minutes after 6pm. (Tiktok\/@_cal_cifer)<\/cite><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">It is a bizarre rule that would be sure to send most workplaces into riot, as Callie stated: \u201cI don\u2019t know what you\u2019re thanking me for because I would literally never do that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">Admittedly, the suggestion that they\u2019re ready to penalise you by 10 times the amount you\u2019re late for is quite ridiculous, which is what has got Callie and other viewers so fired up.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">She asked: \u201cFirst off, how do you equate a minute to 10 minutes?<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">\u201cLike the policy would be insane enough as is if it was one minute for one minute, but the fact that you\u2019re saying for every individual minute that you are late, you have to work ten extra minutes? [That] makes this absolutely insane.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">Callie also highlighted that management probably aren\u2019t going to follow these same rules, making it even more unfair on employees.<\/p>\n<div class=\"tiktok-embed_tiktok__FJOwE\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\"><iframe title=\"7358081663378804010\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/embed\/7358081663378804010\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">\u201cIf my shift is 10 to 6, and I show up at 10:02, I\u2019m still leaving at 6. Maybe the absolute latest I would leave would be 6:02,\u201d she claimed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">But the glaring issue here was pointed out \u2013 overtime pay.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">If hourly employees were to follow this rule, they could be pushed to work beyond the 8-hour working day, which would earn them more money.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">\u201cIs this company completely comfortable with paying all of this sudden overtime?\u201d she asked.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">\u201cBecause they\u2019re forcing employees to stay 20, 30, 40 minutes over? Because they were four minutes late for work? I show up 3 min early and and leave 30 minutes early.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">Another put: \u201cSo then it works both ways right? If I start 15 minutes early I get to leave 2.5 hours (150 minutes) early, right?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">A third posted: \u201cI\u2019d be 5 mins late every day and rake in that OT.
