One of Taylor Swift\u2019s ex\u2019s has spoken out after fans insist that some of the songs on her newest album reference him.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Matty Healy, the lead singer of the 1975, has responded to claims that he was referenced on\u00a0Taylor Swift\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0latest album,\u00a0The Tortured Poets Department.<\/em><\/p>\n

The pair were reported to have begun dating back in 2023\u00a0before reportedly breaking up in June of that year.<\/a><\/p>\n

In particular,\u00a0fans speculated that numerous songs referenced him<\/a> in some way \u2013 naming \u2018Gulity as Sin\u2019, \u2018Black Dog\u2019, \u2018Fresh out the Slammer\u2019, and \u2018The Tortured Poet\u2019s Department\u2019 amongst a few others.<\/p>\n

In the song, Swift sings \u201cYou left your typewriter at my apartment \/ Straight from the tortured poets department \/ I think some things I never say \/ Like, \u2018Who uses a typewriter anyway?\u201d<\/p>\n

And fans believe that this is about Healy due to his comments during an\u00a0interview with GQ.<\/a><\/p>\n

In the interview, the singer spoke of his preference for typewriters.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cIt\u2019s not that there\u2019s any kind of like, romance to having a notebook, but I really like typewriters, as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t have one with me because that is really impractical, but the thing is with typewriters and writing on pen to paper, there\u2019s kind of an element of like commitment that goes with the ceremony of it.<\/p>\n

\u201cTherefore, it requires you to concentrate a bit better.\u201d<\/p>\n

So, when Healy was spotted out and about in\u00a0Los Angeles<\/a>\u00a0on Wednesday (April 24) the topic of Swift\u2019s new album was brought up.<\/p>\n

He was asked how he felt about the \u2018diss track\u2019 and gave a surprising response.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy diss track? Oh!\u201d he said. Healy then laughed and replied: \u201cI haven\u2019t really listened to that much of it, but I\u2019m sure it\u2019s good.\u201d<\/p>\n

Healy is known to be a fan of Scottish band The Blue Nile, and \u2018Downtown Lights\u2019 even inspired a The 1975 song.<\/p>\n

\u2018But Daddy I Love Him\u2019<\/strong><\/h3>\n

This one seems to take aim at Swift\u2019s fans, who\u00a0continually pleaded with her to break up with Healy<\/a>\u00a0during the brief time she dated him.<\/p>\n

At one point she sings: God save the most judgmental creeps \/ Who say they want what\u2019s best for me \/ Sanctimoniously performing soliloquies I\u2019ll never see \/ Thinking it can change the beat of my heart when he touches me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swift sings: \u201cI just don\u2019t understand how you don\u2019t miss me \/ In The Black Dog when someone plays The Starting Line \/ And you jump up, but she\u2019s too young \/ To know this song \/ That was intertwined in the magic fabric of our dreaming.\u201d<\/p>\n

Healy is a fan of The Starting Line, and covered the band\u2019s song \u2018The Best of Me\u2019 during gigs in April and May 2023, just days before he and Swift were snapped holding hands.<\/p>\n

\u2018The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived\u2019<\/strong><\/h3>\n

One fan called this \u2018the most brutal song I\u2019ve ever heard\u2019 \u2013 the title says it all, really.<\/p>\n
