Emma Stone has said it would be \u2018so nice\u2019 if people referred to her by her actual name.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s a bit of\u00a0Hollywood trivia<\/a>\u00a0for you, some of the most famous actors around aren\u2019t actually going by their real names.<\/p>\n

Take Reese Witherspoon for example, \u2018Reese\u2019 is actually her mother\u2019s maiden name and she was originally Laura Jeanne.<\/p>\n

Plenty of others who have their name up in lights have a variation on their actual name or, on occasion, something else entirely as the moniker that everybody knows them by.<\/p>\n

Sometimes this is a matter of personal choice, and on other occasions it\u2019s because there\u2019s already another actor registered under their name, and there\u2019s not to be any sharing in order to avoid confusion.<\/p>\n

However, in a recent\u00a0interview<\/a>\u00a0with The Hollywood Reporter, the Oscar-winning star said she\u2019d \u2018like to be Emily\u2019.<\/p>\n

Stone and Nathan Fielder sat down to talk about\u00a0TV<\/a>\u00a0series,\u00a0The Curse,<\/em>\u00a0and during the interview, Fielder was asked what it was like to\u00a0see his co-star win an Oscar.<\/a><\/p>\n

He said he texted her to tell her he was \u2018so proud\u2019, but had also sent a message before saying: \u201cEven if you lose, you\u2019ll always be an Oscar winner to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

The interviewer pointed out that would have been true anyway because she\u2019d already won one, and Fielder said he wanted to refer to Stone as \u2018Emily\u2019 from this point onwards.<\/p>\n

\u201cBefore we continue, I\u2019d like to say something,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHer name\u2019s Emily, but she goes by Emma professionally. So when there\u2019s people that don\u2019t know her, I end up saying Emma. But I\u2019m going to just say Emily from here on.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stone told him \u2018you can say Emma, you can say anything\u2019, and was asked whether anyone in the world of red carpets and sparkly lights called her Emily.<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cWhen I get to know them, people that I work with do.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just because my name was taken. Then I freaked out a couple of years ago.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor some reason, I was like, \u2018I can\u2019t do it anymore. Just call me Emily.\u2019 Nathan calls me Em, which is easier.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stone was then asked what it would be like if someone came up to her and spoke to her as Emily, to which she replied: \u201cThat would be so nice. I would like to be Emily.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for the other Emily Stone, she got to the name first as she was registered as a contestant on\u00a0Australia\u2019s<\/em><\/a>\u00a0Next Top Model<\/em>.<\/p>\n
