After many years out of the limelight, James Franco has made an incredibly rare public appearance.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Multiple women came forward back in 2018, as well as four of his former pupils, accusing the actor of behavior that was\u00a0sexually inappropriate<\/a>\u00a0or exploitative.<\/p>\n

A year later in 2019, actors Sarah Tither-Kaplan and Toni Gaal\u00a0filed a lawsuit<\/a>\u00a0alleging that Franco had engaged in \u2018sexually-charged behaviour towards female students\u2019 at his now-defunct acting school.<\/p>\n

Franco initially said the 2018 allegations were \u2018not accurate\u2019, but it was reported in 2021 that he had agreed to\u00a0pay $2.23m<\/a>\u00a0to settle the lawsuit.<\/p>\n

In 2018, lawyer for Franco Michael Plonsker, said: \u201cJames will not only fully defend himself, but will also seek damages from the plaintiffs and their attorneys for filing this scurrilous publicity-seeking lawsuit.\u201d<\/p>\n

Later in 2022, Franco admitted to having sexual\u00a0relationships<\/a>\u00a0with his film school students in an interview on the\u00a0podcast<\/a>\u00a0The Jess Cagle Show<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver the course of my teaching, I did sleep with students, and that was wrong,\u201d he said at the time.<\/p>\n

Having previously starred in the likes of\u00a0Spider-Man<\/em><\/a>, Pineapple Express<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0127 Hours<\/em>, Franco was a regular on our screens.<\/p>\n

But since the allegations came to light in 2018, he has very much remained in the shadows.<\/p>\n

The 46-year-old\u2019s IMDB page states that the actor hasn\u2019t appeared in a project since he voiced a character in the animated\u00a0film<\/a>\u00a0Arctic Dogs\u00a0<\/em>back in 2019.<\/p>\n

However, he\u2019s come out into the wild recently due to the impending release of his newest flick,\u00a0The Razor\u2019s Edge<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The Tommy Lee Jones-directed film is debuting at\u00a0Cannes<\/a>\u00a0before filming is expected to begin in June.<\/p>\n

As reported by the Mail Online, Franco was spotted at the film festival at a VIP section on Cannes Croisette.<\/p>\n

The actor turned up wearing a\u00a0tux<\/a>\u00a0at an exclusive Nespresso party, a gathering that also saw the likes of Barry Keoghan and Hunter Schafer in attendance.<\/p>\n

Proceedings apparently went on well into the evening, with the beer flowing and\u00a0Italian food<\/a>\u00a0going down a treat.<\/p>\n

Franco was hesitant to be bothered during the party as he sat in the VIP area, which was guarded by heavy security.<\/p>\n

The actor certainly looks very different compared to when we last saw him less than a decade ago.<\/p>\n
