Selena Gomez has dismissed the idea that she is \u2018high maintenance\u2019, saying that boys nowadays \u2018confuse standards with high maintenance\u2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Selena Gomez<\/a>\u00a0seemed to ruffled some feathers with her comments on\u00a0dating<\/a>\u00a0after appearing on the SiriusXM radio last year.<\/p>\n

A short clip from the segment has begun recirculating again on social media as the pop star spoke about how she dates.<\/p>\n

Gomez \u2013\u00a0who recently reacted online with her new boyfriend<\/a>\u00a0to the news of Justin and Hailey Biber\u2019s baby announcement \u2013 was hoping to speak about her then upcoming single, \u2018Single Soon\u2019, when hosts Tony Fly and Symon asked about one particular line from the\u00a0song<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Quoting the lyrics: \u201cI know I\u2019m a little high maintenance, but I\u2019m worth a try \/ Might not give a reason why (oh well),\u201d the hosts asked if Gomez really considers herself high maintenance.<\/p>\n

She replied: \u201cI think I have standards, and I think I live in a world right now where boys confuse standards with high maintenance.<\/p>\n

After some prodding from the hosts, Selena Gomez explained what her \u2018X, Yand Z\u2019 conditions were for dating. (SiriusXM)<\/cite><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThe line was really fun because I\u2019m not ashamed to say. I actually require X, Y, and Z for you to be with me. So in a way, it was just meant to be for the attitude of the song, and that\u2019s genuinely what I feel.\u201d<\/p>\n

After some prodding from the hosts, Gomez explained what her \u2018X, Yand Z\u2019 conditions are and it is hard to believe anyone would call them high maintenance demands.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou gotta be cool, man,\u201d she said. \u201cNot cool in the sense that people think you\u2019re cool. You just gotta be nice and like, please make me laugh and also just be good to my family and people around you.\u201d<\/p>\n

She went on to say how she was content being single at the time and was comfortable with it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think everybody goes through the phase of, \u2018Oh, it\u2019d be nice to like have someone\u2019, and I get that,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n
