While many men would expect women to desire a man with a full-time job, these two women went viral for wanting the exact opposite<\/h2>\n

The evolving dating standards of both men and women can oftentimes be very confusing.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Attributes that can make you a valuable and sought-out partner to some will completely kill your chances with others. Ultimately, this is a pretty fundamental aspect of\u00a0dating<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, it can get perplexing when things that you\u2019d expect everyone to appreciate are considered to be an absolute no-go for certain potential partners.<\/p>\n

This much is the case for Trishonna Helm and Destine Patton of the\u00a0Beyond The Chair<\/em>\u00a0podcast<\/a>, who discussed one of their dating preferences with Jay Hill a couple of years ago.<\/p>\n

While most would assume a woman would want their man to have a full-time job, Trishonna and Destine explained why this isn\u2019t the case for them. Rather, both women would much prefer if their partner didn\u2019t have a job at all.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat if we\u00a0want to go to Jamaica<\/a>,\u201d Trishonna asked, \u201cand you can\u2019t because you\u2019ve gotta go to your [job]?\u201d<\/p>\n

This prompted immense confusion from Jay Hill and viewers of the clip as Destine followed up on Trishonna\u2019s sentiments and elaborated further.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor me personally, because I know when a lot of people say, ‘Oh, I can’t date a man with a job’, a lot of people on the internet take offense, but for me, Destine, I cannot date a man with a job,\u201d she concurred.<\/p>\n

The reason for this for both ladies has to do with general spontaneity, which is hard to fit into the schedule of someone with a full-time job.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am very spontaneous,\u201d Destine added, \u201cI also need a man to understand where I’m at in the moment. As\u00a0entrepreneurs<\/a>, it’s very up and down, and I just want somebody to understand the mental state.\u201d<\/p>\n

While it\u2019s unclear whether the women meant they couldn\u2019t date a man with a typical job schedule or if they truly meant any working man at all, their comments went viral, with confusion and criticism being launched at them for their peculiar worldview.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow many rich dudes do they think there are in the world?\u201d one commenter questioned.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow many people do they think there are out there that don’t need to have a job while being able to fly to Jamaica whenever they want?”<\/p>\n

Another joked about meeting the women\u2019s standards, saying: \u201cI just quit all 5 of my jobs, living in my car & just started my own business (3 lemonade stands up already) and now I can finally say I\u2019m good enough for these type of girls.\u201d<\/p>\n

Others were less critical of the duo, saying that their preferences shouldn\u2019t be anybody else\u2019s concern.<\/p>\n
