The construction workers smashed up the work they just completed after a row in which the homeowner refused to pay them<\/h2>\n

A video shows a group of construction workers smashing up a driveway after the homeowner allegedly refused to pay for the work.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The homeowner from\u00a0Australia<\/a> watched as the newly laid concrete was left pock-marked following the row last year.<\/p>\n

Tradesperson Jesse Crowe from Logan in Queensland took a pickaxe to the driveway after he and his team had laid it for the customer.<\/p>\n

Crowe had negotiated a fee of AU $6,000 (around US $4,012) for the job with the homeowner Viola.<\/p>\n

This consisted of laying a new surface on a driveway which was attached to the side of her home.<\/p>\n

Viola had initially paid AU $2,500 ($1670) for the work, but after getting a dispute with Crowe over the quality of the job and the removal of debris she allegedly refused to pay the remaining AU $3,500 ($2,340).<\/p>\n

Both Viola and Crowe were subsequently\u00a0interviewed<\/a>\u00a0by 7News following the incident.<\/p>\n

In her interview Viola claimed that Crowe had threatened her after she made a complaint about the driveway.<\/p>\n

She told the outlet: “[They said] ‘you pay now, now or we will smash the concrete’.”<\/p>\n

Viola added that the workers had ‘refused to finish the job’, and that if they had then she would have paid.<\/p>\n

She said: “They did what they wanted, not what I wanted.”<\/p>\n

When he understood that he would not be getting the rest of the money for the job, Crowe took matters into his own hands.<\/p>\n

The builder posted a video on\u00a0social media<\/a>\u00a0which showed ‘what happens when you don’t pay for works carried out at your place.’<\/p>\n

In the clip Crowe and a co-worker can be seen hacking at the freshly-laid driveway with pickaxes.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, a voice from behind the camera said: “You should have paid. And it’s going to cost more to get it all dug up, taken away and poured again.<\/p>\n

“Didn’t want to pay? This is what happened.”<\/p>\n

Crowe later told 7News that he had not ‘liked’ destroying his work, saying he was just ‘tired of being ripped off’.<\/p>\n

He said: “I take pride in my work and I love concrete, I love doing it,” adding: “I just want to get paid.”<\/p>\n

Crowe said that he had been in the building trade for a ‘long time’ and had always been ‘doing the right thing by people’.<\/p>\n
