Jennifer Lawrence says she \u2018should have listened\u2019 to Adele, after ignoring her warning about a movie role which flopped.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jennifer Lawrence has revealed that she regrets starring in a 2016 movie after singing legend\u00a0Adele<\/a>\u00a0warned her that the movie would not be a success.<\/p>\n

The space rom-com follows the story of Aurora, played by Lawrence, and Jim, played by\u00a0Chris Pratt<\/a>, who board a spaceship to \u2018Homestead II\u2019, but mistakenly wake up earlier than the other passengers, with 90 years left to go on their voyage.<\/p>\n

Passengers\u00a0<\/em>achieved a feeble 30 percent score rotten tomatoes score, and\u00a0Lawrence<\/a>\u00a0recently opened up about how she \u2018should have listened\u2019 to the \u2018Hello\u2019 singer.<\/p>\n

The movie grossed $300 million (\u00a3262 million) worldwide, it cost $110 million (\u00a389 million) to make.<\/p>\n

Speaking of fans’ dismay, Jen said: “I was like, \u2018Oh no, you guys are here because I\u2019m here, and I\u2019m here because you\u2019re here. Wait, who decided that this was a good movie?'”<\/p>\n

\u201cAdele<\/a>\u00a0told me not to do it! She was like, \u2018I feel like space movies are the new vampire movies\u2019. I should have listened to her.”<\/p>\n

Speaking about the\u00a0movies<\/a>\u00a0that led to her stepping back from the spotlight, such as\u00a0Passengers<\/em>, Lawrence told Vanity Fair last year: \u201cI was not pumping out the quality that I should have. I just think everybody had gotten sick of me. I\u2019d gotten sick of me.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt had just gotten to a point where I couldn\u2019t do anything right. If I walked a red carpet, it was, \u2018Why didn\u2019t she run?\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that I was people-pleasing for the majority of my life. Working made me feel like nobody could be mad at me: \u2018Okay, I said yes, we\u2019re doing it. Nobody\u2019s mad.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd then I felt like I reached a point where people were not pleased just by my existence. \u201cSo that kind of shook me out of thinking that work or your career can bring any kind of peace to your soul.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fast-forward six years and Lawrence starred in the\u00a0Apple<\/a>\u00a0Original movie\u00a0Causeway<\/em>, which follows the story of Lynsey (played by Lawrence) who – while serving in Afghanistan – suffers a brain injury after her vehicle is destroyed by a bomb.<\/p>\n

Lynsey returns to her home in New Orleans, where she struggles to adjust following her experience.<\/p>\n
