An Apple IOS 18 update feature has social media users divided for allowing iPhone users to hide their ‘suspicious activities’ more easily<\/h2>\n

iPhone users are flocking to social media to weigh in on a new feature in Apple’s latest iOS 18 update.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Whispers about the latest\u00a0Apple iOS update<\/a>\u00a0have already been filling social media, iOS 18 believed to hold the potential to\u00a0completely change the way<\/a>\u00a0iPhone users use their device.<\/p>\n

And yesterday (10 June), Apple revealed some of the stand-out features which are included in iOS 18, however, one has left people divided.<\/p>\n

Apple’s announcement about its incoming iOS 18 update on its website\u00a0states:<\/a>\u00a0“iOS 18 gives users even more control with tools to manage who can see their apps, how contacts are shared, and how their\u00a0iPhone<\/a>\u00a0connects to accessories.<\/p>\n

“Locked and hidden apps offer users peace of mind that information they want to keep private, such as app notifications and content, will not inadvertently be seen by others.<\/p>\n

“Users can now lock an app; and for additional privacy, they can hide an app, moving it to a locked, hidden apps folder.<\/p>\n

“When an app is locked or hidden, content like messages or emails inside the app are hidden from search, notifications, and other places across the system.”<\/p>\n

While this is amazing for\u00a0parents who need to hide certain apps away from kids<\/a>, for example, their Amazon or banking apps, well, it’s not rocket science to see how else this feature could be used by the more shady iPhone users among us.<\/p>\n

And it’s not taken long for people to flood to\u00a0social media<\/a>\u00a0to weigh in on the new feature.<\/p>\n

One\u00a0X user\u00a0<\/a>wrote: “I can\u2019t imagine what\u2019s going to happens with the new ability to hide apps on your iPhone with the new iOS 18 update.”<\/p>\n

“IOS 18 update lets you lock a specific app\u2026.apple making it way to easy to hide your suspicious activities lmao,” a second added.<\/p>\n

Calling it a ‘cheater’s paradise’, a third commented: “On the apple update you can hide and lock apps, and they won\u2019t even come up if you search words in the search bar.”<\/p>\n

“iOS18 is a sneaky link\u2019s update.. You can hide apps and they aren\u2019t even visible on search. Can hide apps and lock with Face ID. Hidden apps are in app library but won\u2019t show unless your Face ID unlocks it. Sneaky link summer,” a fourth wrote.<\/p>\n
