Billie Eilish told Lilly Allen and Miquita Oliver it was ‘really hard’ when she first rose to fame<\/h2>\n

Billie Eilish has opened up about one of the difficulties she has faced since she became famous.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As Shakespeare\u00a0wrote<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0Henry IV Pt 2<\/em>\u00a0– “Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown,” something\u00a0Eilish<\/a> found after her rise stratospheric rise to fame at a young age.<\/p>\n

Many people might dream of fame, but Eilish revealed that her success left her feeling lonely and isolated.<\/p>\n

In particular the ‘What Was I Made For?’\u00a0<\/em>singer opened up about struggling to form meaningful friendships due to her\u00a0celebrity<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Eilish appeared on the\u00a0BBC<\/a>\u00a0podcast\u00a0Miss Me?\u00a0<\/em>and opened up to hosts Lily Allen and Miquita Oliver about how she struggled with fame.<\/p>\n

She said: “Well, I lost all of my friends when I got famous.<\/p>\n

“I suddenly was famous, and I couldn’t relate to anybody. It was tough. It was really hard.”<\/p>\n

The singer went on to talk about one occasion in particular which cemented just how difficult she had been finding things.<\/p>\n

The occasion was her 20th birthday party, at which she realised that all of the people there were employed by her.<\/p>\n

She said: “And then it was my 20th birthday and I remember looking around the room and it was only people that I employ. And all 15 years or more older than me.”<\/p>\n

To make matters worse, one of her employees quit and Eilish didn’t see them again.<\/p>\n

“And it was the worst thing that happened to me,” she said. “And that made me realise like ‘oh wait, this is a job.’<\/p>\n

“If they left me, they would never see me again.”<\/p>\n

Despite this, the Oscar-winning singer has remained close to her friend Zoe.<\/p>\n

She has also made a conscious effort to build up a circle of good friends.<\/p>\n

“Exactly a year ago, I reconnected with a bunch of old friends and now, I have so many friends,” said Eilish.<\/p>\n

“I have a crew now! I could literally cry about it. It’s been the greatest thing that’s happened to me.”<\/p>\n

The singer recalled a trip to Coachella festival with her friends which left her tearful.<\/p>\n

She said: “I was like, ‘Guys, I have friends and I just love you guys so much, and it’s been so long since I’ve had friends’. I cried\u2026 and it’s literally because I actually have friendship now again.”<\/p>\n

Billie and her brother Finneas made history when they became the youngest artists in history to win two Oscars, scooping Best Original Song for ‘No Time to Die’\u00a0<\/em>and ‘What Was I Made For?’.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
