Gordon Ramsay said he looks like a ‘purple potato’<\/h2>\n

Gordon Ramsay has admitted he’s ‘lucky to be here’ after suffering horrific injuries in a biking accident.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The\u00a0celebrity<\/a>\u00a0chef posted a video to his\u00a0social media<\/a> channels on Saturday (June 15) after he was left shaken by an accident in Connecticut.<\/p>\n

In the clip, Ramsay’s hands were evidentially shaking as he explained the terrifying ordeal.<\/p>\n

“Hey guys, it\u2019s Gordon. I\u2019d like to share a very important message with you all,” he began.<\/p>\n

“You know how much I love cycling and triathlons and Ironman (races) etc and this week, unfortunately, I had a really bad accident and it really shook me and honestly I\u2019m lucky to be here.<\/p>\n

“Those incredible trauma surgeons, doctors, nurses in the hospitals looked after me this week, they were amazing but honestly, you\u2019ve got to wear helmets.”<\/p>\n

Ramsay added: “I don\u2019t care how short the journey is. I don\u2019t care\u2026 these helmets cost money, but they\u2019re crucial, even with a kid\u2019s short journey, they\u2019ve got to wear a helmet now.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m lucky to be standing here. I\u2019m in pain. It\u2019s been a brutal week. And I\u2019m sort of getting through it.\u201d<\/p>\n

At one point in the video Ramsay lifts up his shirt to reveal a huge dark purple\u00a0bruise<\/a>\u00a0across his torso to viewers.<\/p>\n

And while it looks very painful, the 57-year-old confirmed in a caption to the video he hasn’t broke any bones.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m doing OK and did not break any bones or suffer any major injuries but I am a bit bruised up looking like a purple potato,” he wrote.<\/p>\n

Ramsay also went on to say he was treated at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London, Connecticut.<\/p>\n

He also credited the helmet which ‘saved’ his life.<\/p>\n

Many have flocked to the comments section of the social media post to wish Ramsay well after his accident.<\/p>\n

“A \u2018bit\u2019 bruised up. Be safe man, glad you\u2019re okay and I hope you feel better soon!” one user penned.<\/p>\n

Another added: “The way my heart sank when you lifted your shirt!! The world needs you chef!! Beyond happy to hear you are going to be okay, and thank God for that helmet! Happy Father\u2019s Day and speedy recovery goat!!”<\/p>\n
