The Spanish woman admitted she’d completed 16 bank transfers before becoming suspicious of the scammer.<\/h2>\n

A Spanish Keanu Reeves superfan lost almost $750,000 after she found herself embroiled in a financial scam.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Canadian<\/a>\u00a0actor\u00a0Reeves,<\/a>\u00a059, made his acting debut back in 1984 and has since gone on to star in blockbuster franchises like\u00a0The Matrix<\/em><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0John Wick<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

As well as portraying characters such as Neo, John Constantine and Johnny Silverhand in\u00a0Cyberpunk 2077<\/em><\/a>, Reeves moonlights\u00a0as a bass guitar player in the band Dogstar<\/a>\u00a0and writes for the BRZRKR franchise.<\/p>\n

What we\u2019re saying is Reeves has been booked and busy for the last four decades – but one fan believed he\u2019d carved out some time to dedicate his life to her.<\/p>\n

A woman, calling herself Chloe, recently appeared on the Spanish\u00a0TV show<\/a>\u00a0Y ahora Sonsoles<\/em>\u00a0and claimed that she\u2019d allegedly been receiving messages from the Hollywood actor.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s said that this fake Reeves had initially replied to one of her comments on\u00a0social media<\/a>\u00a0– leading the pair to chat on a daily basis.<\/p>\n

The scammer talked about rock music and motorcycles with Chloe and she confirmed that they even had conversations via audio messages in English.<\/p>\n

During this supposed romance, the\u00a0AI-generated<\/a>\u00a0Reeves suddenly began to ask Chloe for\u00a0money<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe asked me for money to come here, \u20ac60,000 for a private jet, then he asked me for \u20ac5,000 for a special computer for him to create his scripts,\u00a0John Wick 5<\/em>, and to invest in\u00a0Bitcoin<\/a>,\u201d Chloe recounted.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had given him \u20ac450,000 ($380,137) and my money never came.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s said that in total Chloe sent this fraudster a whopping \u20ac700,000 ($750,000) and was later forced to pawn her possessions and borrow money from her relatives.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt wasn’t a love scam, but an economic one,\u201d she explained on TV.<\/p>\n

Apparently after completing 16 bank transfers and going significantly into debt, Chloe began to become suspicious.<\/p>\n

Eventually, she realised the person she had been speaking to probably wasn\u2019t the\u00a0Man of Tai Chi<\/em>\u00a0director and eventually cut off communication with him.<\/p>\n

Interestingly, Chloe isn\u2019t the only woman to fall for the Keanu Reeves Romance Scam.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, a woman from Colorado believed she\u2019d been talking to the Beirut-born actor since 2022.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had great conversations,\u201d said a 65-year-old woman. “We talked about everything from what we had for breakfast to sex in the shower.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking to<\/a>\u00a0CBS News Colorado, the woman admitted she\u2019d given the person who she was speaking to access to her bank accounts and tax information.<\/p>\n

In April 2024, she claimed she\u2019d sent him around $5,000 in total, but was adamant she wasn\u2019t involved in a scam.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can tell you what movies he’s working on. We talked about all kinds of stuff,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She added that the only way she would believe she was a fraud victim was if \u2018Keanu Reeves should walk in the door and tell me he didn’t do this\u2019<\/p>\n

According to CBS, \u2018The Keanu Reeves Scam\u2019 has been a hot topic for years and has been the subject of numerous media reports.<\/p>\n

Representatives for the actor have repeatedly denied that Reeves has a Facebook account or any other social media presence.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
