{"id":12694,"date":"2024-06-19T20:34:58","date_gmt":"2024-06-19T20:34:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/used82.com\/?p=12694"},"modified":"2024-06-19T20:34:58","modified_gmt":"2024-06-19T20:34:58","slug":"heartbreaking-details-of-titan-crews-final-48-seconds-emerge-imagine-the-horror-expert-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/used82.com\/?p=12694","title":{"rendered":"Heartbreaking details of Titan crew\u2019s final 48 seconds emerge \u2013 \u201cimagine the horror\u201d expert says"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The world is still reeling over the constantly evolving story of the Titan sub, and how the small deep sea vessel was an accident waiting to happen.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Last month it was reported that the OceanGate-operated submersible \u2013 bound for an expedition to view the wreckage of the Titanic \u2013 met a catastrophic end when it imploded after losing contact with its mother ship, the Polar Prince.<\/p>\n<p>As well as OceanGate\u2019s CEO Stockton Rush, four other men perished on the trip \u2013 including British entrepreneur Hamish Harding, French diver Paul-Henri Nargeolet, Pakistani-British billionaire Shahzada Dawood, and his teenage son, Suleman.<\/p>\n<p>Just four days after the vessel was initially reported missing, the US Coast Guard said\u00a0the Titan submersible was destroyed by a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2023\/06\/22\/all-five-passengers-on-titan-sub-believed-sadly-lost-owners-say-19000647\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">\u201ccatastrophic implosion\u201d<\/a>\u00a0due to severe pressure.<\/p>\n<p>Numerous experts have come forward to offer their opinions on what was likely to have happened on the Titan\u2019s doomed voyage, with engineer and submarine expert Jos\u00e9 Luis Mart\u00edn recently putting forward his theory on what the five men could have experienced in their final few moments alive.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to Spanish news outlet\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.marca.com\/en\/lifestyle\/world-news\/2023\/07\/05\/64a58bc546163fda628b45bd.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Marca<\/a>, Mart\u00edn \u2013 whose theories are based on calculations that take into consideration the sub\u2019s weight, speed, mass, and thrust \u2013 explained that he suspects the passengers on the sub would have been aware of what was happening between 48 and 71 seconds prior to the fatal implosion.<\/p>\n<p>More distressingly, the expert said that the sub likely fell \u201cvertically\u201d in an out of control manner for over 2,900 feet, and that during this final descent the men could have lost their balance and fallen on top of one another.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-131093 lazyautosizes lazyloaded\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-main.newsner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2023\/06\/26134236\/GettyImages-1258873248.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, 652px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cdn-main.newsner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2023\/06\/26134236\/GettyImages-1258873248.jpg 800w, https:\/\/cdn-main.newsner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2023\/06\/26134236\/GettyImages-1258873248-768x528.jpg 768w\" alt=\"\" width=\"664\" height=\"456\" data-src=\"https:\/\/cdn-main.newsner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2023\/06\/26134236\/GettyImages-1258873248.jpg\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/cdn-main.newsner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2023\/06\/26134236\/GettyImages-1258873248.jpg 800w, https:\/\/cdn-main.newsner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2023\/06\/26134236\/GettyImages-1258873248-768x528.jpg 768w\" data-sizes=\"auto\" data-eio-rwidth=\"664\" data-eio-rheight=\"456\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The men onboard the Titan sub were likely aware of what was happening in the moments before the fatal implosion. Credit \/ OceanGate \/ Handout \/ Anadolu Agency \/ Getty.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Mart\u00edn stated: \u201cThe starting point is that the submarine is descending without any incidence and in a horizontal plane until it reaches an altitude of about 1,700 meters (5,500 feet). At that point there is an electrical failure. It is left without an engine and without propulsion. That\u2019s when it loses communication with the Polar Prince.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He goes on to say that, at this point, he believes the Titan would have fallen vertically because of the weight of all five men. \u201cThey all rush and crowd on top of each other,\u201d he explained. \u201cImagine the horror, the fear and the agony. It must have been like a horror movie.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.newyorker.com\/news\/a-reporter-at-large\/the-titan-submersible-was-an-accident-waiting-to-happen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">New Yorker<\/a>\u00a0published a damning report on the doomed vessel, speaking with experts and former employees about its lack of appropriate safety measures.<\/p>\n<p>A series of emails obtained by the outlet detailed how a former OceanGate worker reportedly confided in one of his colleagues that he had serious concerns over the company\u2019s CEO Stockton Rush.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-facebook wp-block-embed-facebook\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"fb-post\" data-href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/bossladyonfire\/posts\/10161230542517853?ref=embed_post\" data-width=\"640\">\n<blockquote class=\"fb-xfbml-parse-ignore\" cite=\"https:\/\/graph.facebook.com\/709227852\/posts\/10161230542517853\/\"><p>They say curiosity killed the cat.
