It\u2019s hard to grasp that it\u2019s been 15 years since the death of arguably the greatest entertainer to have ever lived.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Michael Jackson\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0life was one of ups and downs, of incredibly high highs and speculation-fueled lows that ultimately made him a vastly polarizing character.<\/p>\n

None can deny, though, that he was an almost unparalleled pioneer in his field, and it\u2019s testament to the \u2018King of Pop\u2019s\u2019 talent and influence that he ranks alongside the likes of Elvis Presley and The Beatles in the uppermost stratosphere of musical geniuses.<\/p>\n

On June 25, 2009 the entertainment industry \u2013 and indeed the world in general \u2013 were left reeling at the news of MJ\u2019s sudden passing.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Thriller\u00a0<\/em>superstar had been preparing for a 50-date residency in the UK when he died at his home in Los Angeles. Dr. Conrad Murray, Jackson\u2019s personal doctor, stated that the singer had stopped breathing and appeared to have gone into cardiac arrest, this minutes after Murray had administered\u00a0a large dose of propofol and benzodiazepine to help him sleep.<\/p>\n

Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, Jackson\u2019s life could not be saved. He was declared dead two hours after Murray\u2019s 911 call.<\/p>\n

Amidst the pain and grief endured by millions of fans around the world following Jackson\u2019s passing, Dr. Murray was charged with involuntary manslaughter after an investigation and autopsy.<\/p>\n

At trial, Murray\u2019s defense claimed that on the night of his death, the 50-year-old Jackson had taken eight tablets of the sedative lorazepam, though this was not administered by Murray.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen Dr. Murray left the room, Jackson self-administered a dose of propofol that, with the lorazepam, created a perfect storm in his body that ultimately killed him,\u201d his defense team argued.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe whole thing is tragic, but the evidence is not that Dr. Murray did it.\u201d<\/p>\n

After the prosecution ruled that \u201cmisplaced trust in the hands of Murray cost Jackson his life,\u201d Murray was sentenced to four years in prison.<\/p>\n

And now, 15 years after the fact, Jackson\u2019s final tragic words have surfaced again, as offered by Dr. Murray.<\/p>\n

During his trial for manslaughter, Murray claimed that Jackson had requested \u2018milk\u2019, the word the singer used for the anaesthetic propofol.<\/p>\n

As reported<\/a>\u00a0by the LA Times, Murray told the jury during his trial: \u201c[Jackson] said, \u2018Please, please, give him some milk so that I can sleep, because I know that this is all that really works for me.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is just a medicine that he was familiar with, it\u2019s called propofol.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe said \u2018Just make me sleep, doesn\u2019t matter what time I get up.<\/p>\n

\u201cI agreed at that time that I would switch over to the propofol.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dr. Murray said that after administering the drug, he left Jackson\u2019s bedside for two minutes to use the bathroom. When he returned to the bed, however, Jackson had stopped breathing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
