Ariana Grande revealed Jeffrey Dahmer was her ‘dream dinner date’ during an interview<\/h2>\n

The mom of a Jeffrey Dahmer victim has criticized Ariana Grande for her ‘sick’ comments about the serial killer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Grande<\/a>\u00a0appeared on the\u00a0Podcrushed\u00a0<\/em>podcast on June 12 to discuss her life and career, however,\u00a0one moment in particular stuck out in the interview to people.<\/a><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Wicked<\/em>\u00a0star recalled a moment when she was asked who would be her ‘dream\u00a0dinner<\/a> date’.<\/p>\n

Many of us may have been asked – or even thought about – this at some point.<\/p>\n

Perhaps you’d like to have a conversation with someone as knowledgeable as David Attenborough, or famous\u00a0historic<\/a>\u00a0figures like Oscar Wilde or Abraham Lincoln.<\/p>\n

And you would think that if you were a\u00a0celebrity<\/a>\u00a0you would have a PR-friendly answer ready – should the occasion arise.<\/p>\n

However, in what\u00a0some have called a ‘weird’ move<\/a>, Grande listed Dahmer as someone she’d like to have dinner with.<\/p>\n

Recalling the event, she told the\u00a0Podcrushed\u00a0<\/em>hosts: “I was infatuated with serial killers when I was younger.<\/p>\n

“It was in between me being Cat [on teen sitcom\u00a0Sam & Cat<\/em>] and pop stuff, so it was like a younger group, and they were with parents, and someone said, ‘If you could have dinner with anyone living or dead, who would it be?'”<\/p>\n

“I was like, ‘Oh honey, you’re so cute’.”<\/p>\n

Grande then revealed that she had asked her parents if she could give the ‘real’ answer.<\/p>\n

She continued to say: “They were like, ‘Sure, what’s the answer?’ and I was like, ‘I mean, Jeffrey Dahmer is pretty fascinating.’<\/p>\n

“I think I would have loved to have met him. You know, maybe with a third party or someone involved. But I have questions.”<\/p>\n

Needless to say, Grande’s admission hasn’t gone down very well, as the mother of one of Dahmer’s victims, Tony Hughes, has since spoken out about her comments.<\/p>\n

Hughes, who was deaf and non-verbal, was 31 years old when he was killed by Dahmer in 1991.<\/p>\n

Shirley Hughes\u00a0told<\/a>\u00a0TMZ on Thursday (June 27): “To me, it seems like she’s sick in her mind.<\/p>\n

“It’s not fancy or funny to say you would have wanted to do dinner with him.<\/p>\n

“It’s also not something you should say to young people, which she says she did.”<\/p>\n

According to the publication, Tony’s sister, Barbara, also said she’d like to see an apology from the singer, claiming that her remarks glamorize Dahmer.<\/p>\n

Between 1978 and 1991, Dahmer murdered, dismembered and cannibalised 17 men and boys.<\/p>\n

Fourteen of Dahmer’s victims were men of color.<\/p>\n

The serial killer was later sentenced to 16 life terms before being beaten to death in prison in 1994.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
