The new sighting comes days after police removed a monolith from near Las Vegas<\/h2>\n

Another monolith has been mysteriously erected but citizens believe it\u2019s more likely to signal a \u2018viral campaign\u2019 rather than provide solid confirmation of extraterrestrial life.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Local residents have claimed a mirrored monolith has appeared in the desert just weeks after a similar structure\u00a0was spotted north of the Las Vegas Valley.<\/a><\/p>\n

On June 21, The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department\u00a0worked to take down the sculpture<\/a>, situated near Gass Peak.<\/p>\n

And while no confirmed connections have been made between the new monolith in northern Colorado and the one near\u00a0Las Vegas<\/a>, people have reportedly been flocking to the new site to see the statue for themselves.<\/p>\n

Lori Graves, the owner of the Howling Cow Cafe near the monument in Bellvue,\u00a0told<\/a>\u00a0KDVR that people have been entering her eatery to ply her with questions.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was Sunday morning when someone came into the cafe and said, \u2018Where is the Monolith?\u2019\u201d she told the news outlet. \u201c\u2018Where is the Alien monolith?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

While Graves claims she isn\u2019t 100 percent sure who has placed the obelisk in the desert, she has a hunch.<\/p>\n

\u201cI almost don\u2019t want to ruin the mystery around it,\u201d she added. \u201cI\u2019m not going to ask people.\u201d<\/p>\n

After hearing about the new reflective column,\u00a0social media<\/a>\u00a0users have been having their say.<\/p>\n

One took to\u00a0Reddit<\/a>\u00a0and wrote: \u201cI, for one, welcome our new monolith\u00a0alien<\/a>\u00a0overlords.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another alleged: \u201cGotta be a\u00a0viral<\/a>\u00a0campaign. same monolith popped up on Gass Peak outside Vegas last week\u2026 \u201c<\/p>\n

\u201cI just took a drive and went to see it. It definitely looks alien to me,\u201d claimed a third Redditor. \u201cI spoke with someone in the coffee shop who said that it was made of some kind of composite metal not known here on\u00a0Earth<\/a>?\u201d<\/p>\n

Someone else joked: \u201cProbably the doorway to hell.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another Reddit user alleged that the rectangular structure had been put up by a homeowner who wanted to \u2018mess\u2019 with someone who believed in \u2018aliens, and conspiracies\u2019.<\/p>\n

However, this report is yet to be confirmed.<\/p>\n

The Colorado and Las Vegas monoliths come months after another mysterious sculpture was\u00a0discovered on a remote hill in Wales<\/a>.<\/p>\n

One business owner claimed they may know who erected the monument (howlingcowcafe\/Instagram)<\/cite><\/div>\n

In 2020, similar structures also popped up in Utah and\u00a0California<\/a>.<\/p>\n

These latter monoliths were later revealed to be the works of The Most Famous Artist – a Mexican group who admitted they were \u2018known for stunts of this nature\u2019.<\/p>\n

These bizarre reflective columns are believed to stem from Arthur C. Clarke’s \u2018Space Odyssey\u2019 fiction novels, developed concurrently with Stanley Kubruck’s sci-fi\u00a0film<\/a>\u00a02001: A Space Odyssey.<\/em><\/p>\n

The fictional monoliths imagined by Clarke and Kubruck were a little different to what we\u2019ve spotted across our world though.<\/p>\n
