In their parents, children find comfort, support, and love, and in their embrace, children discover a sanctuary where they can grow, learn, and thrive. Unfortunately, not every parent out there would go to great lengths for the well-being of their child.<\/p>\n

The harsh reality is that some parents neglect and abandon their children instead of providing for them.<\/h2>\n

The following story, which comes from southwest France, is a heartbreaking one and shows everything that a mother should not be.<\/p>\n

For long two years, a nine-year-old boy was left to fend for himself after his mother fled the apartment where they lived, leaving him behind. Despite the challenges this young boy faced, he showed incredible resourcefulness and determination.<\/p>\n

After a couple of months of living all by himself, some of the neighbors became suspicious that the boy could be living without his mother, but they couldn\u2019t say it with certainty because he was always nicely dressed and excelled at school. That is the reason why his teachers of classmates didn\u2019t raise any concerns either.<\/p>\n

However, once home, he was always forced to face the harsh reality. He was living without electricity or hot water and survived mostly on canned food, some tomatoes and other vegetables he would pick from the neighbors\u2019 gardens, and the food some of the neighbors brought him.<\/p>\n

Ironically, his mother resided a mere 5 km away from him in a neighboring community, yet she rarely visited or attended to his needs. The involvement of the boy\u2019s father in his life was unclear, but he seemed entirely absent.<\/p>\n

It took almost two years for one of the neighbors to report the case of an abandoned child to the authorities.<\/h2>\n

The entire truth emerged during court proceedings, with phone records revealing the mother\u2019s absence from her son\u2019s life. Despite her denial, neighbors confirmed the boy was left alone.<\/p>\n

The court held the mother accountable for child abandonment and neglect. She was sentenced to 18 months in prison and the boy was eventually placed in foster care.<\/p>\n

While in foster care, his mother only visited him once, so as he approached his teenage years, he decided to cut all ties with her.<\/p>\n

It is truly remarkable how this boy managed to survive for that long and be a great student at the same time without his parents or a family member in his life. His determination and resilience are beyond incredible.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
