The modified OceanGate submersible can be seen sinking before it starts to collapse inward, like a can of Coke, in one video that @starfieldstudio shared on Twitter.<\/p>\n<p>Remembering what NBC News\u2019 Armin Cate said about what happened next: \u201cFrom my understanding, the submersible imploded. In one, he says,\u00a0\u201cI think you are potentially placing yourself and your clients in a dangerous dynamic. In your race to [the] Titanic you are mirroring that famous catch cry: \u2018She is unsinkable.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added,\u00a0\u201cI implore you to take every care in your testing and sea trials and to be very, very conservative.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stockton replied,\u00a0\u201cWe have heard the baseless cries of \u2018you are going to kill someone\u2019 way too often. I take this as a serious personal insult.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A sound compatible with an implosion was heard immediately after the submersible lost contact, according to fresh confirmation from the US Navy. Its operators OceanGate have said this is because they believed Titan\u2019s design was so innovative it would take years for inspectors to understand it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>American investor Jay Bloom claimed that he and his son, like Shahzada Dawood and Suleman Dawood, came close to obtaining the positions that were finally given to the Dawoods.<\/p>\n<p>I asked about safety, and Stockton said,\u00a0\u201cI expressed safety concerns and Stockton told me: \u2018While there\u2019s obviously risk \u2014 it\u2019s way safer than flying in a helicopter or even scuba diving.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was absolutely convinced that it was safer than crossing the street. I am sure he really believed what he was saying.
