No wonder Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is so rich with these numbers.<\/h2>\n

Christmas can be overwhelming – particularly when you think about the long list of people you have to buy presents for, and you haven’t even started yet.<\/p>\n

That’s why so many of us turn to Amazon – after all, it’s probably the easiest way to get last-minute gifts to your door in the shortest time possible.<\/p>\n

You might use Amazon regularly, but you won’t believe just how much money the ecommerce site is raking in.<\/p>\n

After all, its founder,\u00a0Jeff Bezos<\/a>, isn’t the third-richest man in the world for nothing.<\/p>\n

According to Jungle Scout, the retail giant\u2019s average sales revenue sits at around $1.4 billion (\u00a31.11 billion) every day. While shocking, it may also come as no surprise considering you can buy virtually anything on the online store – from books and clothes, to electronics and toiletries.<\/p>\n

At the end of October,\u00a0Amazon<\/a>\u00a0released its third-quarter results – and they were pretty eye-watering.<\/p>\n

Net sales increased by a whopping 13% to $143.1 billion (\u00a3113.6 billion) in the third quarter – which is an amount of money we really struggle to get our head around.<\/p>\n

According to Jungle Scout, these numbers are bolstered by the sheer amount of people heading to Amazon – apparently there were 2.2 billion site visits from consumers in April 2023 alone.<\/p>\n

In fact, Jungle Scout has suggested that Amazon dominates US ecommerce this year – accounting for 40% of the market, and dwarfing the likes of Walmart, Apple, eBay, Target and Home Depot.<\/p>\n

And that may come as no surprise considering over half of consumers start their searches for various products on Amazon.<\/p>\n

A recent survey conducted by Jungle Scout found that Amazon was the favourite search destination among 51% of shoppers, miles above search engines like at 39%, Walmart at 34%, YouTube at 23% and Facebook at 22%.<\/p>\n

And Bezos – who is no longer the company’s CEO, but serves as the executive chairman of the board – is laughing all the way to the bank.<\/p>\n

According to Forbes’ real-time\u00a0billionaires<\/a>\u00a0list, Bezos currently has a net worth of $169.2 billion (\u00a3134. billion), and is indulging in his passion for space exploration with his company, Blue Origin.<\/p>\n

That’s not the only thing Bezos is spending his money on – he’s also reportedly invested $42 million (over \u00a333 million) into the construction of what is set to be one of the world’s\u00a0biggest clocks<\/a>.
