Tobey Maguire\u2019s ex-wife Jennifer Meyer has had her say about her a rumor that the former\u00a0Spider-Man<\/em>\u00a0actor is dating a woman three years older than his own daughter.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Maguire, 49, found himself in the midst of the rumor mill last week, and it all started after he was spotted leaving a 4th of July party hosted by businessman, Michael Rubin.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0star-studded<\/a>\u00a0event naturally attracted some paparazzi, so photographers caught the moment Maguire left in the company of 20-year-old model Lily Chee.<\/p>\n

The actor appeared to have his hand on Chee\u2019s back, and that was all it took for people to start wondering if they could be an item.<\/p>\n

\u201cTOBEY MAGUIRE IS DATING LILY CHEE wtaf,\u201d reads one post on\u00a0Twitter<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Other internet users honed in on Chee\u2019s age, noting that at 20-years-old, she\u2019s much closer in age to Maguire\u2019s 17-year-old daughter, Ruby Sweetheart Maguire.<\/p>\n

\u201ctobey maguire was my favorite\u00a0spiderman<\/a>\u00a0until I saw those pics of him with lily chee !,\u201d one shocked fan commented, adding: \u201cshe\u2019s 20 he\u2019s 49\u2026 and his own daughter is 17!!\u201d<\/p>\n

Another wrote: \u201ctoby maguire with 20 year old lily chee like his own daughter isn\u2019t literally three years younger than her \u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Though there has been no confirmation that Maguire and Chee are anything more than acquaintances, the rumor quickly began to spread and soon caught the attention of Meyer, who was\u00a0married<\/a>\u00a0to Maguire from 2006 to 2017.<\/p>\n

Meyer shares two children with Maguire, Ruby and their 15-year-old son, Otis, and she quickly came to her ex\u2019s defence when people started to ask her about his dating life.<\/p>\n

One internet user addressed Meyer directly, asking: \u201cWhy is your ex husband banging someone 3 years older than your daughter.\u201d<\/p>\n

In response, Meyer argued Maguire actually was not in any way involved with Chee.<\/p>\n

She wrote: \u201cI don\u2019t usually respond to such nonsense, but he was kindly helping a friend to her car. Being a good guy. And now he is blasted online for dating someone he is not.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meyer rounded off her comment by taking the high road, saying: \u201cBut thank you for your rude comment, I hope it made you feel better today. Wishing you love and light.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meyer\u2019s defence of Maguire comes after the mom told Us Weekly in 2018 that the pair are still close, even after their split.<\/p>\n
