The comedian has confirmed she’s quitting Hollywood soon<\/h2>\n

Ellen Degeneres has confirmed she is quitting Hollywood, and says we ‘won’t see her again’.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0comedian<\/a>\u00a0and long-time talk show host has confirmed that she will be quitting\u00a0Hollywood<\/a>\u00a0once she plays the final leg of her current comedy tour.<\/p>\n

DeGeneres<\/a>\u00a0is in the midst of the\u00a0Ellen\u2019s Last Stand\u2026. Up Tour<\/em>, a stand up tour which will be filmed and released as a\u00a0Netflix<\/a>\u00a0special.<\/p>\n

In a Q&A following one of her shows she was asked whether she would be returning to making\u00a0movies<\/a>\u00a0after her stand up tour.<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cUm, no. This is the last time you\u2019re going to see me. After my Netflix special, I\u2019m done.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked if she would be returning to her role as Dory from Pixar’s\u00a0Finding Nemo\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Finding Dory<\/em>\u00a0she said: \u201cNo, I\u2019m going bye-bye, remember.\u201d<\/p>\n

DeGeneres hosted\u00a0The Ellen DeGeneres Show<\/em>\u00a0for almost 20 years, with it at one time being one of the most popular shows in the\u00a0US<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The stand up comic has been using the tour to address misconduct allegations against her from the set of the show.<\/p>\n

The talk show ended due to these allegations, which ranged from\u00a0racism<\/a>\u00a0to sexual misconduct to intimidation.<\/p>\n

DeGeneres ended up giving an on air apology, where she said: “I take this very seriously and I want to say I’m so sorry to the people it affected.<\/p>\n

“I learned that things happened that should never have happened.<\/p>\n

“If I’ve ever let someone down, if I’ve ever hurt their feelings, I am sorry for that.”<\/p>\n

Following an internal investigation into the allegations, three executives at Warner Media ended up being fired for their part in the controversy.<\/p>\n

At the show DeGeneres said: \u201cLet me catch you up on what\u2019s been going on with me since you last saw me.<\/p>\n

\u201cI got chickens. Oh yeah, and I got kicked out of show business for being mean.\u201d<\/p>\n

“I am a strong woman. I am many things, but I am not mean.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a previous show, DeGeneres said it was ‘hurtful’ how her show ended.<\/p>\n

She said: “I just thought, \u2018Well this is not the way I wanted to end my career, but this is the way it\u2019s ending.\u2019 \u2026 I just hated the way the show ended.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love that show so much and I just hated that the last time people would see me is that way.\u201d<\/p>\n

DeGeneres’s tour will continue until August 17, at which point we will – supposedly – never see her again.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
