The Wisconsin dad and daughter were both discovered dead after a 911 text was received from the Sheriff’s office in Utah<\/h2>\n

A father and daughter have both died while out hiking in temperatures exceeding 100\u00b0F.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tragically a 23-year-old woman and her 52-year-old father reportedly got lost and later ran out of water while out hiking in Utah.<\/p>\n

The pair, from Green Bay, Wisconsin, had been hiking in Canyonlands National Park on the Syncline Trail – where ‘the air temperature at the time was over 100\u00b0F’ in Moab – the nearest city to where they were discovered.<\/p>\n

On Friday afternoon (July 12), San Juan County Dispatch received a 911 text from a person at the Island in the Sky district of Canyonlands National Park, park rangers confirmed.<\/p>\n

Both the National Park Service rangers and the Bureau of Land Management Moab District Helitack personnel responded to the information and a search operation was launched.<\/p>\n

But when the dad and daughter were finally located they had already passed away.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for the National Park Service added: “While temperatures remain high this summer, park visitors are advised to carry and drink plenty of water and avoid strenuous activity during midday heat.”<\/p>\n

San Juan County Sheriff’s Office and the National Park Services are investigating their deaths.<\/p>\n

It comes ten days after a young boy died after going hiking with his family in Arizona.<\/p>\n

Tragically,\u00a0Cortinez Logan, nine, collapsed while walking through the South Mountain Park<\/a>\u00a0and Preserve near Phoenix, on Tuesday (July 2).<\/p>\n

On the day, temperatures reportedly rose to a sweltering 113\u00b0F.<\/p>\n

Officials reported that the Logan family began hiking up the mountain at around 9.30am, and five to six hours later, between 2.00pm and 3.00pm, spoke to the emergency services.<\/p>\n

According to officials, Cortinez began falling ‘in and out of consciousness’ in the early afternoon.<\/p>\n

Cortinez was then airlifted off the mountain to a nearby hospital where he died ‘as a result of a heat-related medical event’.<\/p>\n

There has been a string of heat-related deaths in the US as heat waves grip most states.<\/p>\n

A four-month-old baby girl died on July 5 after experiencing soaring temperatures while on a boat trip with her family.<\/p>\n
