In today\u2019s world it seems like there\u2019s no end to the things you have to be on your guard for.<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re anything like me, you\u2019ll forever be suspicious of things that stick out, things that might give you reason to believe you\u2019re at the center of some plot or scam.<\/p>\n

But it turns out there are instances where a small dose of paranoia might actually do a whole lot of good. Take, for example, if you return a parked car to find a coin lodged in the door handle on the passenger side.<\/p>\n

As per\u00a0reports<\/a>, this odd happening could actually be a sign of impending danger, and as such not on you should ignore.<\/p>\n

You see, there have been instances of thieves slotting small objects (like coins) into the handles of vehicles, thereby preventing the locking mechanism from working properly, as the car\u2019s system thinks a door is yet open.<\/p>\n

While the would-be victim (the car owner) then proceeds to try and work out what\u2019s wrong, the thieves are able to strike and gain access to the vehicle.<\/p>\n

So, what to do if foul-play is suspected?<\/p>\n

Well, first you should always check your passenger side for any foreign objects. If you can\u2019t lock your door, you have an issue that needs addressing quickly.<\/p>\n

Never be afraid to ask for help, and if possible, get into your car and drive to a well-lit, public location. Car thieves and the like will always prefer to strike in dark and unassuming areas where they stand the best chance of getting away and not getting caught.<\/p>\n

On top of that, don\u2019t hesitate to call the authorities if you believe your car is being tampered with or someone may be targeting you. The worst that can happen is that the police will give you reassurances that it\u2019s not the case.<\/p>\n
