The one-of-a-kind device is set to rival the new iPhone 16<\/h2>\n

The world\u2019s first tri-fold smartphone has been unveiled, stealing the spotlight from Apple\u2019s introduction of the new iPhone 16.<\/p>\n

This week saw\u00a0Apple<\/a>\u00a0make a lot of exciting new announcements from details on iOS 18 and\u00a0Apple Intelligence<\/a>\u00a0to brand new products including the latest\u00a0iPhone<\/a>\u00a0model and the\u00a0Apple Watch Series 10<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, it looks like it\u2019s had the spotlight ripped away from them after Huawei made their own unveiling of a new smartphone.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Huawei Mate XT<\/a> is the thinnest and largest foldable phone, folding out twice vertically to give the user a screen that measures 10.2 inches diagonally.<\/p>\n

The device is equipped with AI-enabled translation, messaging and photo editing features.<\/p>\n

The tech company\u2019s consumer group chairman, Richard Yu, said: \u201cIt\u2019s a piece of work that everyone has thought of but never managed to create. I have always had a dream to put our tablet in my pocket, and we did it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The phone will set customers back a whopping $2,800 and will be available from September 20, the same day that the iPhone 16 hits the shelves.<\/p>\n

However, despite the buzz around the one-of-a-kind phone, there\u2019s one detail that has left a lot of people sharing the same concern.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s left many worried that if they buy the phone, they\u2019ll accidentally fold it the wrong way, potentially breaking the expensive device.<\/p>\n

With many taking to\u00a0Reddit<\/a>, one user wrote: \u201cI\u2019d probably try and fold it back the wrong way and snap the screen\u201d and a second added: \u201cI can\u2019t wait to see drunk people folding it wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another person said: \u201cAs someone who has trouble folding a board game mat properly, I would probably snap this sucker the wrong way within the first week, for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n

A fourth wrote: \u201cI can see myself forgetting which way the s*** folds back and just destroying it instantly.\u201d<\/p>\n

And a fifth added: \u201cAll fun and games until you gently try to fold it the wrong way and it bursts into flames.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, not everyone shared such bleak thoughts about the device.<\/p>\n

Others were excited about the prospect of having a tablet-sized phone available in their pocket.<\/p>\n

One user said: \u201cInteresting. I can see myself in the am hours at mcdonalds enjoying breakfast, take out the phone then bam! Switch that bad boy to home theater mode.\u201d<\/p>\n
