The actor said he and his family were ‘starving’ after he struggled to find work<\/h2>\n

Jason Momoa has opened up about the realities some stars face while working in TV and film.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Unless you’re lucky enough to get back-to-back roles in\u00a0Hollywood<\/a>, then there may be periods of time where you go without work.<\/p>\n

Euphoria<\/em><\/a>\u00a0star\u00a0Nika King said she was ‘unable to pay rent’<\/a>\u00a0earlier this year following the unexpected wait between filming seasons of the hit\u00a0HBO<\/a>\u00a0show.<\/p>\n

The second season officially wrapped in November 2021, with production for the highly anticipated third season not expected to star until next year.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, after jobs fizzled out for\u00a0Sopranos<\/em>\u00a0favorite Drea de Matteo,\u00a0she had to turn to OnlyFans<\/a>\u00a0to keep her and her family afloat.<\/p>\n

This is something that\u00a0Jason Momoa<\/a>\u00a0also knows all to well after falling ‘completely in debt’ when work dried up after his role in\u00a0Game of Thrones.<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n

Momoa starred as Daenerys Targaryen’s (Emilia Clarke) husband, Khal Drogo, in the popular show.<\/p>\n

But in line with the books penned by George R. R. Martin, Drogo dies as a result of an infection and is killed off at the end of season one.<\/p>\n

With his character’s death in mind, Momoa was left without a job.<\/p>\n

Speaking about his home life with now-estranged wife Lisa Bonet and their kids after the show, the actor\u00a0shared with<\/a>\u00a0InStyle magazine in 2020: “We were starving after\u00a0Game of Thrones.<\/em>“<\/p>\n

He added: “I couldn’t get work. It’s very challenging when you have babies and you’re completely in debt.”<\/p>\n

But Momoa’s luck changed in the years that followed after he was cast as Aquaman in the\u00a0Justice League\u00a0<\/em>alongside the likes of Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot in 2016.<\/p>\n

Two stand-alone\u00a0Aquaman<\/em>\u00a0movies have since followed suit.<\/p>\n

As well as being a staple of the DC Universe, Momoa has starred in blockbuster movies like\u00a0Braven, Dune,<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Fast X.<\/em><\/p>\n

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Momoa’s now has an estimated net worth of $40 million – a far cry from his days of battling with debt and struggling to land acting jobs.<\/p>\n

The celebrity pair announced their separation in 2022, with\u00a0Bonet going on to officially file for divorce<\/a>\u00a0earlier this year.<\/p>\n
