(September 16) on the first day of what is expected to be a two-week hearing on the causes of the implosion and if any criminal activity led to the tragedy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">British adventurer Hamish Harding and father and son Shahzada and Suleman Dawood died, alongside OceanGate Expeditions\u2019 chief executive Stockton Rush and Frenchman Paul-Henri Nargeolet.<\/p>\n<p><iframe class=\"text_text__nEn66\">His\u00a0<a class=\"anchor_link__6t7IO\" href=\"https:\/\/www.unilad.com\/news\/missing-titanic-sub-sulaiman-dawood-terrified-752685-20230623\">19-year-old son<\/a>\u00a0was a student at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\"><a class=\"anchor_link__6t7IO\" href=\"https:\/\/www.unilad.com\/technology\/news\/titan-submersible-final-moments-new-details-913502-20240808\">The crew aboard the Titan<\/a>\u00a0were communicating with support staff aboard the Polar Prince by text messages, according to the presentation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">The last words from the vessel&#8217;s crew were &#8216;all good&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">The crew lost contact after an exchange of repeated inquiries from the Polar Prince about the submersible\u2019s depth and weight as it descended.<\/p>\n<div href=\"https:\/\/www.unilad.com\/news\/world-news\/titan-sub-implosion-animation-video-viral-949148-20230713\">The Titan imploded<\/a>\u00a0just days before the images were taken, setting off a worldwide debate about the future of private undersea exploration.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">The aim of the hearing in Charleston County,\u00a0<a class=\"anchor_link__6t7IO\" href=\"https:\/\/www.unilad.com\/us-news\">South Carolina<\/a>, is to &#8216;uncover the facts surrounding the incident and develop recommendations to prevent similar tragedies in the future&#8217;, the coast guard said in a statement earlier this month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">The ongoing Marine Board of Investigation is the highest level of marine casualty investigation conducted by the coast guard. the Titan to be built so he can visit the wreckage of the Titanic himself.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">Speaking to the Wall Street Journal in May, Connor said: &#8220;I want to show people worldwide that while the ocean is extremely powerful, it can be wonderful and enjoyable and really kind of life-changing if you go about it the right way.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p
