Electric cars still remain pretty expensive in 2024<\/h2>\n

If we have any chance in preventing the damages of global warming, many argue that electric cars are the way to go.<\/strong><\/p>\n

However,\u00a0electric cars<\/a>\u00a0are still not as mainstream as its manufactures would like, with just 0.86\u00a0percent<\/a>\u00a0of registered vehicles in the\u00a0US<\/a>\u00a0being electric.<\/p>\n

A reason for this is that they are known to be pretty darn\u00a0expensive<\/a>, while also being quite difficult to physically maintain.<\/p>\n

On top of this, they can certainly impact you very drastically when it comes to paying the electricity within your own digs.<\/p>\n

Many new owners of electrical vehicles (EVs) tend to expect a massive increase in their electric bill, something which is fairly common.<\/p>\n

However, one\u00a0Tesla<\/a>\u00a0owner took to\u00a0Twitter<\/a>\u00a0to reveal an astonishingly low bill after buying a car from\u00a0Elon Musk’s<\/a>\u00a0automotive company.<\/p>\n

The user @Tesla_GTownTX posted a screenshot of the bill they received directly from Tesla when it comes to electricity usage, with the total amount coming to just $2.37.<\/p>\n

While that may seem extremely low, this, according to the user, is higher than usual as they wrote: “First time I\u2019ve had a bill within the last 12 months. This sucks.”<\/p>\n

The post left many current and potential users of EVs questioning what the user\u2019s secret was to charge his car without amassing large electricity bills in the process.<\/p>\n

\u201cI call bs [bulls**t],\u201d said one disbelieving commenter.<\/p>\n

While another joked: \u201cMan my sympathies to you in this horrible time.\u201d<\/p>\n

It turns out that the user\u2019s secret to having such a small electricity bill involved them planning ahead of time and making a big purchase to avoid having to pay for the costly utility every month.<\/p>\n

The driver said he used solar panels to keep his electric bill from ever reaching the heights you\u2019d expect, with a Tesla Powerwall used to charge vehicles using solar energy.<\/p>\n

The home battery may seem as though it would save you hundreds of dollars each month, thought it\u2019s difficult to say whether the one-time payment for the Tesla Powerwall is worth a reduced electric bill.<\/p>\n

According to Forbes, these Tesla Powerwalls can cost you well over $11,000 per battery, and the more you have, the more electricity you are likely to save.<\/p>\n

So, while it may seem like the Tesla owner has stuck gold with a lowly bill, they did have to pay a big premium to get there.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
