Officials have allegedly charged five people in connection with Liam Payne\u2019s death, including hotel staff and one of his friends.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In October, it was reported that\u00a0the former One Direction singer had died<\/a>\u00a0while staying at the CasaSur Palemero hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s understood the 31-year-old and\u00a0his girlfriend Kate Cassidy, 25,<\/a>\u00a0had originally been in the country to\u00a0support and visit his ex-bandmate Niall Horan<\/a>, 31, who was on tour at the time.<\/p>\n

Payne, who was staying on the third floor of the up-market establishment, is thought to have fallen from his balcony – which looked into the hotel\u2019s interior courtyard – at around 17:07 local time (21:07 BST).<\/p>\n

A post-mortem examination later reported<\/a>\u00a0he died of \u2018multiple traumas\u2019 and \u2018internal and external haemorrhage\u2019.<\/p>\n

On Sunday (December 29), local outlet Infobae\u00a0alleged<\/a>\u00a0that officers investigating the incident had charged five people, one of whom is Rogelio \u2018Roger\u2019 Nores, an alleged friend of Payne.<\/p>\n

News.com.au\u00a0reports<\/a>\u00a0that Nores left\u00a0the singer<\/a>\u00a0at the hotel around an hour before he fell to his death on October 16.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unknown whether Nores has been taken into custody by\u00a0police<\/a>, but it is reported that he has been\u00a0charged<\/a>\u00a0with negligent homicide and is prohibited from leaving the country,\u00a0as per<\/a>\u00a0Metro.<\/p>\n

Gilda Martin and Esteban Grassi, two hotel managers, have reportedly been charged with manslaughter.<\/p>\n

Waiter Braian Paiz and hotel employee Ezequiel Pereyra have both been accused of supplying Payne drugs, the publication also claims.<\/p>\n

Nores has previously denied claims that he was involved in the former\u00a0X Factor<\/em><\/a>\u00a0star\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

Speaking to TMZ’s documentary,\u00a0TMZ Presents: Liam Payne: Who’s to Blame<\/em>, Nores claimed that Payne had been \u2018in good spirits and perfectly balanced\u2019 before his death.<\/p>\n

In a statement, he said (via<\/a>\u00a0E! News): \u201cI went to his hotel three times that day and left 40 minutes before this happened. I could have never imagined something like this would happen.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI haven\u2019t spoken to any police officer or prosecutor ever since,\u201d he continued, adding that he was \u2018heartbroken with this tragedy\u2019 before saying he was \u2018missing\u2019 his friend \u2018every day\u2019.<\/p>\n

In November, it was reported that\u00a0three people had been detained and one person’s home had been raided\u00a0<\/a>by police in connection with Payne’s death, with the public prosecutors office stating that one of the suspects was ‘the person who accompanied the artist on a daily basis during his stay in the city of Buenos Aires’, while the other two were a hotel employee and an alleged ‘drug supplier’.<\/p>\n

In November,\u00a0Payne<\/a>\u2019s remains were flown back to the UK, with a private funeral taking place at St Mary’s Church in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, England, northwest of London.<\/p>\n
