{"id":15566,"date":"2025-01-22T15:06:29","date_gmt":"2025-01-22T15:06:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/used82.com\/?p=15566"},"modified":"2025-01-22T15:06:29","modified_gmt":"2025-01-22T15:06:29","slug":"scientists-claim-jesus-wasnt-called-jesus-and-that-the-son-of-god-actually-went-by-something-else","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/used82.com\/?p=15566","title":{"rendered":"Scientists claim Jesus &#8216;wasn&#8217;t called Jesus&#8217; and that the Son of God actually went by something else"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"summary_summary__q_VAA\">&#8216;Jesus Christ&#8217; wasn&#8217;t Jesus&#8217; full, first or second name, according to historians<\/h2>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\"><strong>Throughout our entire lives we&#8217;ve &#8216;understood&#8217; that Jesus is called Jesus&#8230; I mean, if we&#8217;re told someone is called something, you don&#8217;t really question it.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">But according to scientists Jesus &#8216;wasn&#8217;t called Jesus&#8217; and in fact, the Son of\u00a0<a class=\"anchor_link__6t7IO\" href=\"https:\/\/www.unilad.com\/religion\">God<\/a> went by a different name.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">Jesus was born around 2,030 years ago &#8211; if we&#8217;re to believe the historians.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">&#8220;The narrowest date one can confidently arrive at for Jesus\u2019s birth seems to be the month of March, during the years 6, 5, or 4 BC,&#8221; explained Professor Lawrence Mykytiuk of Purdue University in\u00a0<a class=\"anchor_link__6t7IO\" href=\"https:\/\/www.unilad.com\/us-news\">Indiana<\/a>,\u00a0<a class=\"anchor_link__6t7IO\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/sciencetech\/article-14157741\/Scientists-reveal-Jesus-birthday-date.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">to<\/a>\u00a0the MailOnline.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">Anyway, scholars believe &#8216;Jesus Christ&#8217; might not be the lord&#8217;s name at all, with historians citing that the Son of God&#8217;s name would have been in his native language of Aramaic, which doesn&#8217;t sound anything like it does now.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">Then there&#8217;s the fact that the name &#8216;Jesus&#8217; didn&#8217;t actually exist when he was alive, and there&#8217;s even letters that wouldn&#8217;t have appeared in written language until around 1,500 years after Jesus&#8217; death.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">Then, as the story of Jesus was shared, the name transitioned from his native language to Hebrew, then Greek, followed by Latin and in the 16th century&#8230;\u00a0<a class=\"anchor_link__6t7IO\" href=\"https:\/\/www.unilad.com\/uk-news\">English<\/a>. (Getty Stock Image)<\/cite><\/div>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">While an expert on early Christianity from the University of Birmingham, Professor Candida Moss, backed up Houtman&#8217;s belief.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">She told the publication: &#8220;Most scholars agree that his name was Yeshua or possibly Yeshu, which was one of the most common names in first-century Galilee.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">So, is Jesus&#8217; real name Yeshua Christ?<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">Well, no.
