Russia has finally released a statement amid all the recent news about America\u2019s seemingly deteriorating relationship with Ukraine. Ukraine\u2019s President Volodymyr Zelensky<\/strong>\u00a0was visiting the United States when a tense situation took place in President Donald Trump\u2019s Oval Office.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Now, it seems that Russia has made a statement on all of this, with a representative from the Kremlin commenting on the issue.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A Kremlin representative has spoken on Ukraine\u2019s Volodymyr Zelensky\u2019s willingness to negotiate after Donald Trump read a letter from the latter in front of Congress.<\/p>\n

Last week, President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance met with Ukraine\u2019s Zelensky to discuss various matters, the most pressing of which happens to be Ukraine\u2019s ongoing war with Russia.<\/p>\n

The situation grew tense with Trump and Vance expressing their disappointment with Zelensky\u2019s lack of gratitude and seeming unwillingness to negotiate a ceasefire with\u00a0Russia<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re gambling with the lives of millions of people\u201d, Trump said during the meeting. \u201cYou\u2019re gambling with World War Three, and what you\u2019re doing is very disrespectful to the country, this country that\u2019s backed you far more than a lot of people say they should have,\u201d the President of the\u00a0United States<\/a>\u00a0added.<\/p>\n

Trump said he would pause all military aid to Ukraine, a move which the Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov\u00a0appreciated<\/a>\u00a0as being the \u2018best contribution to the cause of peace.\u2019<\/p>\n

After his early exit from the White House, Zelensky wrote a letter to President\u00a0Donald Trump<\/a>\u00a0which he read aloud in front of Congress yesterday on March 4, 2025. He said, \u201cUkraine is ready to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

The latter further said, \u201cMy team and I stand ready to work under President Trump\u2019s strong leadership to get a peace that lasts,\u201d it went on, \u201cWe do really value how much\u00a0America\u00a0has done to help\u00a0Ukraine<\/a>\u00a0maintain its sovereignty and independence.\u201d<\/p>\n

The letter also said that Ukraine is ready to sign the rare earth minerals deal at any time which is convenient to the United States. This was the deal they were due to sign during Zelensky\u2019s disastrous visit to the White House.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s time to end this senseless war. If you want to end wars, you have to talk to both sides,\u201d\u00a0the POTUS stated.<\/p>\n

It seems that Moscow also appreciates Ukraine\u2019s willingness to \u2018come to the negotiating table\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are positive. The question is with whom to sit at the negotiating table,\u201d Peskov said in a statement.<\/p>\n

However he expressed his confusion as to how it would happen due to the 2022 decree declaring that Ukraine would not negotiate with Russian leader Putin.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor now, the legal ban by the Ukrainian President holding talks with the Russian side is in force,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOverall, the approach is positive, but the details have not changed yet,\u201d the statement noted.<\/p>\n

Sky News\u00a0reported<\/a>\u00a0that Russia\u2019s attack on Ukraine is still ongoing.\u00a0On March 4, 2025, they launched drone attack on the southern Ukrainian city of Odesa, which resulted in the death of a 77-year-old woman and injuring three others.<\/p>\n

Regional governor Oleh Kiper shared that the woman died of shrapnel wounds on the outskirts of the city, and that the drones had damaged a private home and also started fires.<\/p>\n

In retaliation for the 181 drones Russia fired, Ukraine shot down 115 of them.<\/p>\n
