Meghan Markle and Prince Harry\u2019s lives in the US might not have ended up exactly as they expected them to when they left the Royal Family. While they have tried their hands at several business ventures, not all of them have been successful, and the Sussexes\u00a0were<\/strong>\u00a0at one point\u00a0even labeled \u201cgrifters.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

In recent months,\u00a0Meghan<\/a>\u00a0Markle has focused on her Netflix show\u00a0With Love, Meghan<\/em>, and now, a new podcast project has set sail. The Duchess has just launched the podcast\u00a0Confessions of a Female Founder,<\/em>\u00a0and in the first episode, she dropped a bombshell about her health issues.<\/p>\n

Prince Harry<\/a>\u00a0and Meghan jumped into many business ventures after their royal exit in 2020. After a short stint in Vancouver, the Sussexes moved to California, thereafter signing a massive deal with Netflix. They also made millions of dollars through a Spotify deal that later got canceled \u2013 after which they received quite the humiliating moniker.<\/p>\n

The Spotify deal was canceled in June 2023, and Bill Simmons, the company\u2019s head of podcast innovation and monetization, lashed out at the couple on his podcast.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wish I had been involved in the \u2018Meghan and Harry leave Spotify\u2019 negotiation.\u00a0The Fucking Grifters,<\/em>\u00a0that\u2019s the podcast we should have launched with them,\u201d Simmons said on the\u00a0Bill Simmons Podcast<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have got to get drunk one night and tell the story of the Zoom I had with Harry to try and help him with a podcast idea. It\u2019s one of my best stories\u2026 Fuck them. The grifters.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meghan Markle \u2013 new Netflix series<\/h2>\n

In addition to the Netflix deal, the couple has released their documentary series, Harry & Meghan, \u00a0Live to Lead<\/em>,\u00a0The Heart of Invictus<\/em>, and a new documentary about polo on Netflix. Not long ago, they aired their fifth Netflix release, though Meghan took center stage this time.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, it was announced that the Duchess would appear in a new show titled\u00a0With Love, Meghan.\u00a0<\/em>The cooking and lifestyle program was initially supposed to be filmed at Harry and Megan\u2019s multimillion-dollar mansion in Montecito, California, or at least look like it. But, speaking to\u00a0People Magazine<\/a>, Meghan Markle revealed she decided to rent a place nearby instead.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wanted to protect that safe haven,\u201d she told People. \u201cWe\u2019re a close-knit family, and I love those moments\u2014 putting Lili down for a nap, having lunch together, having sacred time together at the end of the day.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added: \u201cOur kitchen is where Mama just cooks for the family, and with a crew of 80-plus people, that\u2019s a lot of people to have in your house!\u201d<\/p>\n

With Love, Meghan<\/em>\u00a0consists of eight episodes, in which Meghan cooks with guests and shares smart and creative lifestyle hacks. The show includes guests such as her former\u00a0Suits<\/em>\u00a0co-star Abigail Spencer, chef Roy Choi, actress-producer Mindy Kalin, and restauranteur Alice Waters.<\/p>\n

Shares new podcast project<\/h2>\n

After initial reviews, it appeared as though Meghan Markle\u2019s show was destined for disaster. Critics were harsh, savagely hitting out at how she portrayed herself, as well as the show\u2019s content. However, viewers seemed to like it \u2013 it almost reached Netflix\u2019s global top 10 list with 2.6 million views in early March, per the\u00a0Mirror<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Moreover, in the UK,\u00a0With Love, Meghan<\/em>\u00a0made it to number seven in early March\u2019s top 10. In the United States, it has since been confirmed that\u00a0With Love, Meghan<\/em>\u00a0will get a second season.<\/p>\n

While Meghan is enjoying the success of her Netflix show, she has just launched another project. In early April, just days ago, Meghan revealed through her Instagram that she is launching a new podcast with her friend Whitney Wolfe Herd, the Founder and CEO of\u00a0Bumble<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing an entrepreneur can start young. (By the way, all these years later and I\u2019m still selling cookies!),\u201d Meghan wrote in the caption, sharing pictures of a young self selling cookies in the streets.<\/p>\n

\u201cTune in for the premiere episode of\u00a0Confessions of a Female Founder<\/em>\u00a0featuring my dear friend,\u00a0@whitney, now streaming wherever you get your podcasts!\u201d<\/p>\n

The show is produced together with Lemonada Media, which said in a statement: \u201cAs Meghan herself navigates the\u00a0world\u00a0of entrepreneurship with the upcoming launch of her brand As Ever, be inspired by the real, unfiltered stories and lessons learned from notable female founders\u2014from knowing your worth to trusting your gut, securing investors, and investing in yourself.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meghan reveals she suffered from \u2018potentially life-threatening\u2019 condition after pregnancy<\/h2>\n

Meghan continued: \u201cI\u2019ve been having candid conversations with amazing women who have turned dreams into realities and scaled small ideas into massively successful businesses. They\u2019re opening up, sharing their tips, tricks (and tumbles), and letting me pick their brains as I build out my own business, As ever. It has been absolutely eye-opening, inspiring\u2026and fun! (Because what\u2019s the point if we can\u2019t have some fun on this wild adventure?) First episode is April 8th!\u201d<\/p>\n

On April 8, the first episode of\u00a0Confessions of a Female Founder<\/em>\u00a0was released\u2013and Meghan dropped a bombshell about her health. During a discussion about balancing motherhood with their professional career, Meghan revealed to Whitney that she had experienced postpartum preeclampsia.<\/p>\n

As per the\u00a0Mayo Clinic<\/a>, it\u2019s a rare and potentially life-threatening condition marked by high blood pressure and excess protein in the urine shortly after giving birth. On the podcast, Meghan Markle admitted it was terrifying, especially because she didn\u2019t know anything about the condition.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe both had very similar experiences \u2014 though we didn\u2019t know each other at the time \u2014 with postpartum, and we both had preeclampsia. Postpartum preeclampsia,\u201d Meghan said.<\/p>\n

The Duchess didn\u2019t explain whether she got the condition after the birth of\u00a0Prince Archie<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0Princess Lilibet<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s so rare and so scary,\u201d Meghan continued.\u00a0\u201cAnd you\u2019re still trying to juggle all of these things, and the world doesn\u2019t know what\u2019s happening quietly. And in the quiet, you\u2019re still trying to show up for people \u2013 mostly for your children \u2014 but those things are huge medical scares.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI wouldn\u2019t have it any other way\u201d<\/h2>\n

Wolfe Herd continued: \u201cI mean life or death, truly,\u201d adding that she recalled how Harry and Meghan introduced Archie in 2019 with a public photocall, just like the royal tradition says, which was also conducted by\u00a0Princess Diana<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Kate Middleton<\/a>, among others.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, I\u2019ll never forget the image of you after you delivered Archie, and the whole world was waiting for his debut,\u201d Whitney Wolfe Herd said on\u00a0Confessions of a Female Founder<\/em>. \u201cI was either just becoming or about to become a new mom, and I was like, \u2018Oh my God, how is this woman doing this? How is this woman putting on heels and going and debuting a child in this, you know, beautiful outfit in front of the entire world? I could barely face a doorbell delivery for takeout food in a robe.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meghan explained how balancing work and being at home was a significant change considering the pandemic.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe became moms in the pandemic, post-pandemic culture, where there is so much working from home\u2026 I don\u2019t leave the house to go to an office; my office is here,\u201d the Duchess explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cLili still naps, she gets picked up early and she naps. She only has a half day in preschool. If she wakes up and wants to find me, she knows where to find me, even if my door is closed to the office. She\u2019ll be sitting there on my lap during one of these meetings with a grid of all the executives\u2026 I wouldn\u2019t have it any other way. I don\u2019t want to miss those moments. I don\u2019t want to miss pickup if I don\u2019t have to. I don\u2019t want to miss drop-off.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meghan concluded: \u201cWhat I do love the most about having young kids, in this chapter while I\u2019m building [business], is the perspective that it brings because you\u2019re building something while your child\u2019s going through potty training\u2026and both are just as important\u2026 It\u2019s like, \u2018Great, okay, where\u2019s the Cheerios? Well done.\u2019 And then you\u2019re championing your team 10 minutes later about something that is really high value for the world. In your own world, that\u2019s super high value. And in [Lili\u2019s] world, that\u2019s super high value.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meghan Markle suffered a miscarriage in 2020<\/h2>\n

Meghan\u2019s terrifying health issue of postpartum preeclampsia is sadly not the only tragic thing she has gone through. She and Prince Harry experienced a traumatic experience in 2020 when Meghan lost a baby after falling pregnant.<\/p>\n

Four months later, in an emotional article in the\u00a0New York Times<\/a>, titled\u00a0The Losses We Share<\/em>, Meghan bravely revealed how she had felt a sharp pain and was admitted to the hospital.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter changing his (Archie\u2019s) diaper, I felt a sharp cramp. I dropped to the floor with him in my arms, humming a lullaby to keep us both calm, the cheerful tune a stark contrast to my sense that something was not right,\u201d Meghan wrote. \u201cI knew, as I clutched my firstborn child, that I was losing my second.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHours later, I lay in a hospital bed, holding my husband\u2019s hand. I felt the clamminess of his palm and kissed his knuckles, wet from both our tears. Staring at the cold white walls, my eyes glazed over. I tried to imagine how we\u2019d heal. Losing a child means carrying an almost unbearable grief,\u201d Meghan added.<\/p>\n

Five years later the scars remain. A source told\u00a0OK! Magazine<\/a>\u00a0that Meghan is naturally feeling sadness this time of the year when the anniversary of her miscarriage approaches. However, love conquers all, and her family brings her immense joy.<\/p>\n
