President Donald Trump is no stranger to throwing punches during press conferences \u2014 but on May 28, it was a reporter who landed the first jab.<\/strong><\/p>\n

And Trump didn\u2019t take it lightly.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Now into his second term,\u00a0Trump<\/a>\u00a0has wasted no time rolling out a slew of executive orders and controversial tariffs aimed at countries around the globe.<\/p>\n

His aggressive moves have shaken the stock markets, impacting major U.S. companies like Walmart and Apple. But while Wall Street initially dipped, markets have bounced back in recent days \u2014 and traders have come up with a cheeky nickname for why.<\/p>\n

That nickname? One that Trump clearly did\u00a0not<\/em>\u00a0appreciate.<\/p>\n

\u201cTrump always chickens out\u201d<\/h2>\n

During a live press conference at the White House on May 28, \u00a0reporter Megan Casella of CNBC, boldly asked Trump:<\/p>\n

\u201dThey\u2019re saying \u2018Trump Always Chickens Out\u2019 on the tariff threats and that\u2019s why markets are higher this week. What\u2019s your response to that?\u201d<\/p>\n

The acronym T.A.C.O.\u2014 \u201cTrump Always Chickens Out\u201d \u2014 was coined by Financial Times journalist Robert Armstrong in a May 2 column. It pokes fun at Trump\u2019s recurring habit of making aggressive tariff threats, only to later postpone or soften them.<\/p>\n

One example is the president\u2019s recent decision to push back the implementation of a 50% tariff on EU imports from June 1 to July 9 \u2014 buying time for negotiations and giving markets a chance to rebound.<\/p>\n

Another came on May 12, when he hit pause on a planned 145% tariff on Chinese goods, issuing a 90-day freeze that eased investor concerns.<\/p>\n

\u201dA nasty question\u201d<\/h2>\n

But Trump didn\u2019t see the humor in the T.A.C.O. nickname.<\/p>\n

At first, he appeared puzzled.<\/p>\n

\u201cI kick out?\u201d Trump asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cChicken out,\u201d Casella repeated.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve never heard that,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n

Then, clearly irritated, he snapped:<\/p>\n

\u201cYou ask a nasty question like that. It\u2019s called negotiation. You set a number\u2026 if I set a number at a ridiculous high, I go down a little bit, they want me to hold that number. 145% tariff.\u201d Trump said that \u201cwe were doing no business because of the tariff, because it was so high. I knew that. But don\u2019t ever say what you said. That\u2019s a nasty question.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201dSix months ago, this country was stone-cold dead. We had a country, people didn\u2019t think it was gonna survive. And you ask a nasty question like that?\u201d<\/p>\n

And he didn\u2019t stop there.<\/p>\n

\u201dDon\u2019t ever say what you said. That\u2019s a nasty question,\u201d he warned the reporter.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not the first time Trump has bristled when the tables were turned.<\/p>\n

\u201cGet yourself a real job\u201d<\/h2>\n

For those who thought Trump\u2019s second term would come with fewer jabs at reporters \u2014 think again. If anything, he seems more irritable than ever when faced with tough questions from the press.<\/p>\n

On May 20, Trump\u00a0had another frosty exchange<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 this time on Capitol Hill.<\/p>\n

A journalist from the nonprofit news outlet NOTUS pressed him, asking:
\n\u201dAndy Harris said that you didn\u2019t adequately convince enough people to vote for the bill?\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump, never one to let a jab go unanswered, quickly turned it around.
\n\u201dWho? I don\u2019t even know what the hell that is. Get yourself a real job,\u201d he fired back, dismissing the journalist entirely.<\/p>\n
