Iran issued a warning regarding what it would do if attacked by the USA days before President Donald Trump issued a series of airstrikes.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Saturday, following days of bath-and-forth incursions by Israel and Iran, Trump green lit the first active US involvement. 125 US aircraft reportedly traveled over 7,000 miles to drop bombs on three of Iran\u2019s nuclear sites.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe US\u00a0military\u00a0carried out massive precision strikes on the three key nuclear assemblies in the Iranian regime: Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan,\u201d Trump told American citizens in a national address.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur objective was the destruction of Iran\u2019s nuclear enrichment capacity and a stop to the nuclear threat posed by the world\u2019s number one state sponsor of terror.\u201d<\/p>\n

In typical fashion,\u00a0Trump<\/a>\u00a0took to social media to boast about the success of the airstrikes, claiming the US and Israel had worked \u201cas a team perhaps like no team has ever worked before.\u201d<\/p>\n

The POTUS also issued a stern warning to Iran should they be considering retaliating in any way. Trump said any attempt at retribution \u201cwill be met with force far greater\u201d than than the weekend\u2019s strikes.<\/p>\n

Iran now have a decision to make regarding such how they\u2019ll respond to US involvement. From a neutral standpoint the wisest course of action seems to be that they do nothing \u2013 that is to say do their best to avoid becoming a target for future US attacks.<\/p>\n

Another play \u2013 however ill-advised \u2013 would be immediate retaliation. Unfortunately, the Iranian government may feel forced to pursue this option to save face, particularly as they had already promised retribution if attacked by the US in the days leading up to the Trump-sanctioned airstrikes.<\/p>\n

As\u00a0per NBC News<\/a>, Iran warned Trump that it would move to activate so-called \u2018sleeper cell\u2019 terror agents already on American soil in the event that the US launched an attack. Trump, it\u2019s said, was given this information through an intermediary at the G7 summit in\u00a0Canada\u00a0last week.<\/p>\n

The Independent<\/a>\u00a0describes said sleeper cells agents as spies\/terrorists that reside in the US but remain dormant (sleeping) until given direct orders to attack. They often present themselves as regular members of society and have normal jobs and family setups.<\/p>\n
